Brown Stove repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Brown Stove Works, Inc. is a privately held American cooking-appliance manufacturer founded by Grover Cleveland Brown in 1935 in Cleveland, Tennessee. The company specializes in durable residential and institutional cooking equipment, particularly gas and electric ranges, wall ovens, and built-in cooktops. Brown Stove Works emphasizes relatively straightforward, serviceable appliance designs and American manufacturing, and its products have been used in private residences as well as multifamily housing, senior housing, universities, and military installations. The company describes itself as the only remaining privately held stove-range manufacturer in the United States and says its current products are sourced, built, and manufactured domestically.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Surface Burner Fails to Ignite

Gas burner will not light because of a failed spark electrode/ignitor, defective spark module or valve switch, clogged burner ports, or an improperly seated burner cap. This is one of the principal burner faults identified in Brown Stove Works troubleshooting documentation.

Oven Igniter Failure

The oven may fail to light even though the glow-bar igniter appears to glow. Aging igniters can become electrically weak and fail to draw enough current to open the oven safety gas valve.

Intermittent or Continuous Burner Sparking

Surface burners may spark intermittently, continuously, or fail to produce a reliable spark due to contaminated electrodes, failing ignition switches, defective spark modules, or moisture around the burner assembly.

Uneven or Improper Burner Flame

Burners may develop uneven, yellow, lifting, excessively high, or otherwise abnormal flames. Common causes include clogged burner ports, incorrect burner positioning, improper air/fuel adjustment, regulator issues, or incorrect gas conversion/orifices.

Oven Temperature Inaccuracy

The oven may consistently run too hot or too cold, resulting in long cooking times, over-browning, or undercooked food. Likely hardware causes include a deteriorated thermostat, temperature sensor, control circuitry, or improperly adjusted oven burner.

Electric Surface Element Failure

Coil or electric cooktop elements can stop heating because of an open heating element, damaged element receptacle, defective infinite switch, or failed wiring connection. Brown repair catalogs specifically support replacement heating elements, switches, receptacles, and associated wiring.

Erratic Surface Burner Temperature

An electric burner may become excessively hot, insufficiently hot, cycle incorrectly, or refuse to shut off. A failing surface-element control/infinite switch is a common hardware cause, with the element or associated wiring also requiring inspection.

Oven Control Board or Relay Failure

Electronic-equipped Brown ranges can shut down unexpectedly, fail to energize heating components, or exhibit intermittent oven operation when control-board or relay contacts fail. Burned connections or failed relays on the oven control assembly can interrupt power to major loads.

Oven Safety Valve or Gas Supply Control Failure

An oven can have a functioning igniter yet still fail to establish burner flame when the safety valve fails to open correctly. Diagnosis typically involves verifying igniter current, valve operation, regulator condition, and unobstructed gas flow before replacing the valve.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
