Broadcast Pix repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Broadcast Pix, Inc. is a U.S. professional video technology manufacturer and software developer founded in 2002, specializing in integrated live production and broadcast systems designed to consolidate functions traditionally handled by multiple pieces of control-room equipment. Its current portfolio includes the FX Hybrid, MX Hybrid and GX Hybrid integrated production systems, Roadie portable production systems, StreamingPix, RoboPix PTZ cameras, hardware control surfaces, BPNet cloud services, BPfusion graphics, RadioPix/visual-radio tools and VoCaption automated captioning technology. Its systems combine multi-camera video switching, SDI and IP/NDI inputs, graphics, camera control, audio mixing, recording, streaming, automation and remote production capabilities into unified platforms. Broadcast Pix says its technology has more than 5,400 installations in over 100 countries, serving government, broadcasters, corporate users, educational institutions, sports, live events and visual-radio operations.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Hard Drive / Media Drive Failure

System or removable media drives fail, resulting in boot problems, lost clip storage, inaccessible media, or RAID degradation. Granite and Slate systems specifically document replaceable media drives and procedures for dealing with failed drives.

Power Supply Failure

Internal server, switcher, or control-panel power supplies fail, causing complete loss of power, intermittent shutdowns, or power alarms. Several Broadcast Pix systems use or offer redundant power supplies specifically so operation can continue after one PSU fails.

Control Panel Failure

Physical control panels stop responding, fail to initialize, lose button/display functionality, or become unavailable during production. Broadcast Pix provides SoftPanel operation and fail-safe functionality so the system can continue operating when the physical panel fails.

Control Panel / Server Network Disconnect

The control panel loses its TCP/IP connection to the Broadcast Pix server and drops offline or displays a Join Show/reconnection condition. Broadcast Pix panels continuously exchange keep-alive messages with the server and enter an offline state when communication is lost.

Server / Workstation Failure

The Broadcast Pix content server or workstation freezes, crashes, stops responding, or fails to boot, preventing normal switcher software operation and access to integrated production functions. Granite systems include fail-safe control and recovery provisions specifically intended to maintain basic switching if the server fails.

Audio Input / Output Failure

Audio becomes missing, intermittent, distorted, incorrectly routed, or unavailable from embedded or external audio interfaces. Broadcast Pix installations have documented persistent switcher/processor audio problems, while systems such as Flint integrate audio routing and mixing directly into the production hardware.

Video Input / Output Failure

SDI, HDMI, analog, or IP video sources fail to appear, become intermittent, or produce no usable program output. Because Broadcast Pix switchers depend on dedicated I/O hardware and multiple physical video interfaces, faults may involve an individual input/output channel, I/O hardware, cabling interface, or associated processing path.

RAID / Storage Array Failure

One or more drives in RAID-equipped Granite or older Slate servers fail, producing degraded arrays, unavailable clip storage, or potential media loss when redundancy is exhausted. Broadcast Pix specifically designed RAID-equipped systems to continue operating after limited individual drive failures.

Switcher / Server Communication Failure

The hardware switcher fails to establish or maintain communication with the Broadcast Pix server, leaving switching hardware unavailable to the production software or preventing a show from operating normally. Documented field cases include Broadcast Pix switchers that would not connect to the application, while Granite documentation identifies dedicated network, service, PCIe, and fail-safe communication paths between system components.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
