Boom Collaboration repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Video Conferencing
End Use Segment

Boom Collaboration is an Austin-founded professional audiovisual hardware company focused on making video conferencing and hybrid meetings simpler to deploy and use. Its portfolio includes USB webcams, PTZ conference cameras, AI auto-framing cameras, speakerphones, all-in-one video bars, conferencing mini PCs, BYOM connectivity hubs, room kits, and related meeting-room hardware. Boom positions its products as platform-agnostic solutions for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, and other conferencing services, serving environments ranging from home offices and huddle rooms to classrooms, healthcare spaces, boardrooms, and large conference rooms. The company is particularly known for plug-and-play professional AV products that combine high-resolution video, intelligent framing/tracking, microphone arrays, and integrated audio without requiring complex room-system configuration.

2 Most Seen Failures:

No Video Output

Camera powers on but produces no usable video feed or is not recognized by the conferencing application. Common causes include USB/video cable faults, improper device selection, power issues, or the camera failing to initialize correctly.

USB Connection / Device Detection Failure

Computer intermittently disconnects from the camera, speakerphone, or video bar or fails to recognize it altogether. Boom specifically identifies poor, damaged, overly long, or inadequately powered USB connections as causes of device dropouts, data loss, and total device failure.

Microphone Not Detected / No Audio Pickup

Built-in or external microphones stop capturing audio even though the device may otherwise remain connected. Typical causes include mute state, incorrect conferencing-platform device selection, USB communication problems, or operating-system audio configuration.

Audio Dropouts, Echo, or Clipping

Speakerphone audio becomes intermittent, distorted, clipped, or produces echo during calls. Boom's GEMINI documentation specifically notes audio clipping and echo related to software gain control and competing audio-processing enhancements.

PTZ / Zoom Control Failure

Pan, tilt, or zoom functions become unresponsive or react incorrectly on Boom MIDI, MAGNA, and other PTZ models. Control-mode configuration, communication settings, remote addressing, cable faults, or improper operating mode are recurring causes.

Remote Control Not Responding

Infrared remote commands fail to move the camera, change presets, or access normal camera functions. Boom troubleshooting repeatedly points to depleted batteries, incorrect remote address, menu state, or the camera being placed in the wrong operating mode.

Unstable, Shaking, or Dithered Video

Image visibly shakes or dithers, particularly while optical zoom is operating. Boom identifies unstable camera mounting and nearby vibration as primary causes on its PTZ camera platforms.

Network / IP Camera Communication Failure

LAN-equipped cameras cannot be reached through their web interface or IP-control system despite appearing powered. Common causes include Ethernet connection faults, mismatched IP subnets, incorrect network configuration, or communication-protocol settings.

Firmware / Initialization Problems

Camera or conferencing hardware behaves incorrectly, loses expected functionality, or requires repeated power cycling until firmware is updated or the device reinitializes. Boom routinely publishes firmware updates for MINI, MEZZO, MIDI, MAGNA, MAGNA Pro, and other models and recommends maintaining current firmware for reliable operation.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
