Bolin Technology is a professional video-hardware manufacturer specializing in PTZ cameras and AV-over-IP systems for broadcast, live production, corporate AV, education, houses of worship, sports, medical and other professional video installations. Its lineup includes indoor and weather-resistant outdoor PTZ cameras, camera controllers, video decoders and transmission products supporting technologies such as NDI, Dante AV, SDI, HDMI, USB, SRT and other IP-video standards. The company traces its camera-manufacturing activity to the early 2000s and historically supplied OEM/private-label products in addition to its own Bolin-branded equipment. Bolin is particularly known for integrated professional PTZ designs combining Sony imaging technology, high-resolution 4K/FHD video, precise motorized pan/tilt/zoom operation and broad baseband/IP connectivity.
Camera remains completely unresponsive because of failed or inadequate DC/PoE power, damaged power circuitry, loose connectors, or cabling faults. Bolin repeatedly identifies power delivery as a primary troubleshooting point across its PTZ lines.
Camera unexpectedly restarts during operation, commonly associated with insufficient or unstable power delivery. Repeated cycling can also indicate degradation in the internal power-supply or regulation circuitry.
Camera loses its pan/tilt position, stops moving correctly, or requires a pan-tilt reset after mechanical obstruction or forced movement. Motor-drive, encoder, gear, or position-sensing faults can produce similar persistent symptoms.
Camera cannot be discovered, reached through its web interface, or controlled over Ethernet. Common fault areas include the Ethernet interface, network configuration, physical LAN connection, and internal IP-processing hardware.
Camera does not respond to a Bolin controller over VISCA IP, RS-232, or RS-422 despite being powered. Hardware-level causes can include damaged serial/network ports, interface circuitry, connectors, or control boards.
Camera powers and may still respond to control commands but produces no usable SDI, HDMI, USB, NDI, Dante AV, or IP video output. Output-interface electronics, encoder circuitry, connector damage, or the imaging signal path can be responsible.
Live video freezes, drops frames, tears, or becomes intermittently unavailable during streaming. Bolin documentation specifically discusses freezing and frame dropping under network or decoding constraints, while persistent faults can also involve encoder or Ethernet hardware.
Image remains soft, hunts repeatedly, or fails to acquire correct focus, especially at long zoom ranges or in difficult environmental conditions. Persistent cases can involve the lens drive, focus motor, position feedback, or imaging-module electronics.
Camera does not respond to its infrared remote even with correct IR ID and batteries. After configuration and remote issues are excluded, likely hardware faults include the IR receiver, front-panel sensor circuitry, or associated control electronics.
