Blustream repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Blustream is an Australian-founded professional audio/video electronics manufacturer specializing in AV signal distribution and integration hardware for residential and commercial installations. Its range includes HDMI and HDBaseT matrix switchers, extenders, splitters, presentation switchers, video-over-IP systems, audio-over-CAT and Dante products, control modules, and related signal-management equipment. Founded in Melbourne by experienced AV product managers, Blustream is particularly known for multi-room video distribution, HDBaseT technology, 4K signal handling, and products designed for professional AV integrators and custom-install environments. Its product development is globally coordinated, while manufacturing is centered in Shenzhen, China.

2 Most Seen Failures:

HDBaseT Link Drops / No Signal

HDBaseT transmitter and receiver pairs may lose their CAT link, show a blinking link LED, or stop passing video entirely. Poor cable termination, excessive run length, EMI, or degradation of the HDBaseT transmitter/receiver circuitry can cause intermittent or permanent loss of signal.

HDMI / HDCP Handshake Failure

Blustream matrices, switchers, and extenders can detect connected equipment yet produce a blank screen, flashing image, or no video because the source and display fail to complete HDMI or HDCP negotiation. The problem is especially noticeable when mixing different display capabilities, HDCP versions, or high-bandwidth 4K sources.

EDID Recognition / Resolution Failure

Sources can output the wrong resolution, fall back to a low resolution, remain limited to a lower refresh rate, or produce no picture when EDID data is not read or stored correctly. Blustream specifically provides EDID management because multi-display and matrix installations introduce frequent compatibility variables.

PoC Power Failure

HDBaseT receivers or wall-plate transmitters may remain completely dead when Power over Cable is absent, unstable, set to the wrong voltage, or the power-delivery circuitry fails. Blustream equipment uses specific 12V and 24V PoC arrangements, and incompatible voltage combinations can damage connected hardware.

HDMI Input / Output Port Failure

Individual HDMI inputs or outputs may stop detecting sources or displays while other ports on the same matrix or switcher continue working. Symptoms include a permanently extinguished HDMI-link indicator, no image on one route, or repeated connection loss despite known-good cables.

ARC / eARC Audio Loss

ARC-capable Blustream extenders and audio products can lose return-channel audio or produce no sound despite normal video operation. CEC communication, ARC configuration, HDMI cabling, incompatible audio formats, or faults in the ARC/eARC interface circuitry can interrupt the return audio path.

Network / Web-Control Communication Failure

AV-over-IP controllers and network-controlled matrices can become unreachable, disappear from control software, or stop responding to routing commands. Ethernet connectivity, IP configuration, controller communication, firmware state, or failure of the network interface can leave otherwise powered hardware inaccessible.

IR / Control Pass-Through Failure

IR control can stop reaching source equipment even though the video path remains functional. Common symptoms include working matrix switching but no remote-device response due to failed emitters/receivers, damaged IR ports, incorrect connections, or control-interface faults.

Firmware / Boot Instability

Matrices, receivers, and controllers can become unstable, fail to respond correctly, or lose functionality when firmware is corrupted, mismatched, or incorrectly updated. Blustream maintains separate MCU, Web GUI, and receiver firmware on several product families, making firmware integrity an important troubleshooting point.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
