BlueCat Networks repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

BlueCat Networks is an enterprise network-infrastructure technology company specializing in DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (DDI). Its products are designed to centralize, automate, secure, and monitor the core network services used by large enterprises, government organizations, healthcare systems, financial institutions, and other complex IT environments. Its portfolio includes the Integrity DDI platform, Micetro, Edge, Horizon, Cloud DNS Service, network-security and observability tools, along with rack-mounted hardware appliances such as its GEN5 BC-series systems. BlueCat offers its technology as dedicated hardware appliances, virtualized software, and SaaS solutions, and is particularly known for large-scale DDI management and DNS-driven network automation in hybrid and multicloud environments.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Storage Drive Failure

HDDs and SSDs can develop bad sectors, read/write errors, or fail completely, preventing BlueCat BAM or BDDS appliances from booting or reliably accessing databases and configuration data. This is particularly relevant across older HDD-equipped GEN3/GEN4 units and RAID-equipped higher-capacity appliances.

RAID Array Degradation

A failed SSD/HDD in RAID-equipped BlueCat appliances can leave the array degraded, trigger hardware alarms, and reduce storage redundancy. Continued operation with a second failed drive can result in complete data loss or an unbootable appliance.

Power Supply Failure

A power-supply module may stop delivering stable output, causing power alarms, unexpected shutdowns, or failure to start. Models equipped with dual redundant PSUs may continue operating on the remaining supply while reporting the failed module.

Cooling Fan Failure

Chassis fans can slow, seize, or stop entirely, producing hardware-health alarms and insufficient airflow. BlueCat specifically monitors individual fan RPM on physical appliances because fan problems can lead to elevated temperatures and eventual shutdown.

Overheating / Thermal Alarm

Blocked airflow, failed fans, dust buildup, or environmental cooling problems can cause chassis temperatures to rise outside normal operating limits. Persistent overheating may cause throttling, instability, spontaneous shutdowns, or damage to internal components.

Network Interface / Ethernet Port Failure

Onboard or add-in NICs can develop link failures, intermittent packet loss, or ports that no longer establish a connection. Because BlueCat appliances depend on separate service, management, and high-availability interfaces, a failed NIC or port can interrupt DNS, DHCP, management, or HA communication.

Boot Media / SD Card Failure

GEN4 BlueCat appliances using internal SDXC media can experience corrupted or failed flash storage, resulting in boot errors, recovery problems, or an inability to load required system data. Flash media degradation becomes more likely as the device accumulates write cycles and operating age.

Memory Failure

Faulty DIMMs or ECC memory errors can cause boot failures, kernel errors, crashes, unexplained reboots, or unstable DNS/DHCP services. Memory-related faults may initially appear intermittent before progressing to persistent hardware errors.

System Board / Hardware Controller Failure

Motherboard components, RAID controllers, hardware-management circuitry, or associated system batteries can fail and produce POST errors, hardware alarms, loss of storage access, or a completely non-booting appliance. BlueCat's iDRAC-equipped appliances expose hardware conditions such as battery and chassis-component status specifically for detecting these system-level faults.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
