Blue Tees Golf is a U.S. golf-technology brand focused on making connected electronic equipment for recreational and performance-oriented golfers. It began primarily with laser rangefinders and has expanded into a broader connected ecosystem encompassing GPS-enabled golf speakers, handheld GPS devices, wearables, portable launch monitors, and its GAME software platform. Current products include the Captain Pro and Captain Air connected rangefinders, Series 3 Max+ laser rangefinder, Player Pro GPS speaker, Ringer GPS handheld and Rainmaker launch monitor. Blue Tees positions itself around modern industrial design, integrated GPS/data features and relatively accessible pricing compared with traditional premium golf-tech brands.
The device will not turn on or the display remains blank despite normal power-button operation. Reports appear across Ringer GPS units and multiple Blue Tees rangefinder models, often involving battery, charging, or internal power faults.
The battery fails to charge fully, stops charging at a partial percentage, or no longer holds a normal charge. Blue Tees specifically provides troubleshooting for speakers that stop charging between roughly 25–75% capacity.
GPS-equipped devices may fail to identify the correct course, lose location data, or show inaccurate yardages. Users have also reported missing course layouts and incorrect hole detection.
The Ringer and other touchscreen-equipped GPS products can develop frozen or nonresponsive touch controls. Blue Tees recommends restarting the unit and updating firmware when touch input stops responding.
Rangefinders may struggle to obtain a flag or target distance, particularly at longer range or when trees and other objects are behind the pin. Independent testing has documented difficulty reliably isolating the flag from background targets.
Laser or GPS units can return yardages that vary from the actual target distance or from other reference devices. The Series 3 Max has been specifically criticized for reduced accuracy at longer distances.
The unit powers on but the display suddenly goes blank or the device shuts down while attempting a reading. Blue Tees identifies weak, discharged, or poor-quality batteries as a common cause across several rangefinder models.
GPS devices may exhibit corrupted displays, erratic operation, touch problems, or other abnormal behavior that requires a firmware update or reset. Some Ringer users have reported screens displaying symbols rather than normal course information.
The built-in magnetic mount can lose grip on rough cart paths, allowing a device to fall from the cart. Ringer owners have repeatedly reported drops followed by cracked or shattered front glass.
