Blaze Audio repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Blaze Audio is a Danish professional-audio manufacturer specializing in amplification, DSP/control, and sound-reinforcement loudspeakers for permanently installed audio systems. Its portfolio is best known for the PowerZone and PowerZone Connect networked Class-D amplifier families, PowerZone Control DSP/software, installation loudspeakers, column/constant-beamwidth systems, and subwoofers used in restaurants, hospitality venues, retail spaces, education, houses of worship, entertainment venues, and other commercial environments. Products are principally engineered/designed in Denmark while documented production has been carried out in China. Blaze originated under Danish amplifier-technology company Pascal A/S and was acquired by Sonance in May 2025; the amplifier/control products are now marketed as Blaze by Sonance.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Amplifier Output Overload / Protect Mode

PowerZone and PowerZone Connect amplifiers may enter protection when a speaker output is overloaded, shorted, or driven below the supported impedance. The affected output pair typically shuts down or shows a red overload/protection indication.

Power Supply Failure / No Power

Failure of the universal switch-mode power supply, PFC circuitry, standby supply, or associated power components can leave the amplifier completely dead or unable to start normally. Long operating hours and electrical stress increase the likelihood of power-stage component deterioration.

Thermal Shutdown / Overheating

Restricted rack ventilation, excessive ambient temperature, or sustained high output can cause the amplifier to reach its temperature-protection threshold and mute or shut down. Blaze specifies a maximum operating temperature of 40°C and specifically warns against restricted airflow.

Individual Output Channel Failure

One or more amplifier channels can lose output while the remaining channels continue functioning because the PowerZone platform uses multiple Class-D output stages. Output MOSFET, driver, protection, or associated module faults can result in a channel reporting an output fault or remaining silent.

Aged or Failed Electrolytic Capacitors

Power-supply filter capacitors are exposed to substantial heat near the high-frequency transformer and can degrade after prolonged powered operation. Increased ESR or loss of capacitance can eventually cause unstable startup, ripple, intermittent shutdown, distortion, or complete power-supply failure.

Network / Ethernet Control Failure

PowerZone Connect units can lose Ethernet detection or fail to obtain an IP address, preventing access to the built-in PowerZone Control interface. Faults can originate in the Ethernet interface, connector, network-controller circuitry, or associated digital hardware.

Wi-Fi Interface Failure

The amplifier's internal wireless access point may stop appearing or become inaccessible, preventing local web-based configuration when Ethernet is unavailable. Hardware failure in the wireless module, antenna connection, or supporting digital circuitry can produce this symptom.

Input Stage Clipping / Distortion

Analog input stages can overload or develop faults that produce clipping, distortion, or absent audio even when the power amplifier remains operational. PowerZone diagnostics specifically identify ADC input clipping and direct the user to reduce input sensitivity when excessive signal level is detected.

Dante / Digital Audio Interface Failure

Dante-equipped PowerZone Connect models can lose network-audio input or output because of faults affecting the Dante interface, Ethernet path, or supporting digital circuitry. The amplifier may remain operational for analog audio while Dante-equipped functions become unavailable.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
