HDMI Port Failure
HDMI ports stop outputting video or become intermittent, particularly on Pocket Cinema Camera models and ATEM hardware. Reports include electrically damaged ports as well as connectors that fail after repeated use.
Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.
Blackmagic Design is an Australian professional video-technology OEM and manufacturer focused on broadcast, cinema, live production, and post-production equipment and software. Its hardware portfolio includes digital cinema and studio cameras, ATEM live-production switchers, capture/playback cards and devices, broadcast converters, video routers, monitors, recorders, streaming/encoding equipment, and network storage; it also develops the widely used DaVinci Resolve editing, color-grading, visual-effects, and audio-post software. The company is particularly known for bringing high-end cinema and broadcast capabilities to substantially more accessible price points and for maintaining unusually extensive in-house manufacturing operations across Australia and Southeast Asia.

SDI inputs or outputs suddenly stop passing a signal despite the rest of the device remaining functional. Ground-loop and hot-plugging events, especially when multiple devices share a power source, are frequently associated with these failures.
USB-C connections stop recognizing SSDs or computers, disconnect intermittently, or lose webcam/video output. This is frequently reported on Pocket Cinema Cameras used with external SSDs and on ATEM Mini-series switchers.
Devices become excessively hot during extended operation and may subsequently experience video dropouts, freezes, artifacts, or complete failure. ATEM Mini and older HyperDeck units are notable examples, with failed or inadequate fan operation sometimes implicated.
The device powers up and its fan or status lights operate, but the display remains black and normal controls are unavailable. This behavior has been reported across Pocket Cinema Camera and URSA models and can indicate display, internal connection, main-board, or other electronic failure.
The unit becomes unable to boot normally from either battery or external power, sometimes showing only a status light or fan activity. Reports range from failed power circuitry to main-board faults and units becoming nonfunctional after an otherwise normal shutdown or update.
Built-in displays develop black screens, intermittent operation, loss of touch response, or failed connections while other camera functions may continue working. Pocket Cinema Camera and URSA-family models account for many user reports of this type.
External SSDs, USB storage, SD cards, or other recording media disconnect, stop recording, or become unavailable during operation. Causes commonly reported include failing USB connections, storage devices that cannot sustain the required write speed, media degradation, and thermal issues.
Video or audio disappears intermittently even though the device remains powered and other functions continue operating. ATEM-series equipment is frequently associated with USB webcam, HDMI, or audio-output dropouts, sometimes requiring a reboot to restore operation.
