BIGSOFTI is an Australian portable-lighting brand owned by Almo Global Pty Limited and focused on compact lighting for photography, video, content creation, and video conferencing. Its flagship BIGSOFTI ONE is a pocket-size bi-color LED soft panel designed to reproduce the broad, diffused lighting techniques used on professional film sets while mounting to phones, tablets, laptops, and cameras. The product uses a custom diffusion panel, bi-color LEDs, rechargeable lithium-polymer power, and interchangeable mounting options. BIGSOFTI was developed with Australian film professionals and Sydney industrial-design firm Vert Design and became particularly known through its successful 2020 crowdfunding launch, which pre-sold thousands of units. The company remains a highly specialized lighting OEM rather than a broad electronics manufacturer.
The internal 1500mAh lithium-polymer battery can gradually lose capacity, causing substantially shorter operating time between charges. Repeated use while charging, heat exposure, and long-term storage can accelerate battery deterioration.
The BIGSOFTI ONE may stop charging or charge intermittently because of wear, contamination, cracked solder joints, or damage around the USB-C connector and charging circuitry. A failed charge-management component can produce the same no-charge condition.
A depleted or failed battery, damaged power-management circuitry, defective capacitive power control, or internal connection failure can leave the light completely unresponsive. Charging-system faults can also present as a no-power complaint.
Individual LEDs, LED driver components, or connections within the 70-element bi-color array can deteriorate and produce dim areas or uneven illumination. BIGSOFTI acknowledges that manufacturing defects can occasionally affect lighting performance.
The light may become stuck in one color mode or fail to correctly switch among the 2800K, 3800K, and 5000K settings. Likely causes include capacitive-control faults, LED-driver problems, or failure within one channel of the bi-color LED circuitry.
Brightness may become stuck, jump between levels, or fail to respond to adjustment commands. The capacitive touch interface and its associated controller circuitry are the primary electronic areas associated with this symptom.
The LED panel can flicker or momentarily shut off when power delivery from the battery, LED driver, internal connectors, or charging circuit becomes unstable. Aging battery cells and poor internal electrical connections are common underlying causes in compact rechargeable LED lights.
The battery-level indicator may display an incorrect state of charge, remain illuminated incorrectly, or stop responding. Faults can originate in the battery-management circuit, sensing circuitry, indicator LEDs, or control electronics.
The rotating barrel connection used to position the BIGSOFTI can loosen or wear with repeated adjustment, allowing the panel to droop or move from the selected angle. Mechanical stress at this interface can also damage the attachment point or internal housing.
