BenQ repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

BenQ Corporation is a Taiwanese electronics and display-technology manufacturer and brand focused primarily on monitors, digital projectors, interactive displays, commercial signage, and related visual-display systems. Its monitor portfolio spans consumer, professional creative, programming, business, and gaming applications, while its projector business covers home cinema, gaming, education, corporate presentation, simulation, and professional installation. BenQ is particularly known for its DLP projectors, color-accurate professional monitors, eye-care display technology, ZOWIE gaming displays, and interactive classroom/business displays. The company is wholly owned by Qisda Corporation, which handles the manufacturing operations that were separated from BenQ's branded business in 2007. BenQ reported sales of approximately 1.63 million LCD monitors and 274,000 projectors in 2024, with its projector business ranking among the world's top five by unit volume.

2 Most Seen Failures:

No Power / Power Supply Failure

Device is completely dead, remains in standby, or intermittently powers off. Common hardware causes include degraded power-supply capacitors, failed switching components, blown protection devices, or faults on the main power board.

Screen Flickering / Intermittent Display

The monitor image repeatedly flickers, blanks, pulses in brightness, or develops intermittent horizontal or black lines. When cables and source devices are eliminated, likely causes include failing backlight circuitry, panel electronics, power instability, or the display control board.

Projector Lamp / Light Source Failure

The projector becomes dim, fails to produce an image, repeatedly attempts to ignite, or displays a lamp warning. Aging UHP lamps naturally lose brightness, while failed lamps, ignition ballasts, or laser/LED light-source electronics can prevent illumination entirely.

Projector Overheating / Thermal Shutdown

The projector runs unusually hot, increases fan speed, shuts itself down, or refuses to restart until cooled. Dust-restricted airflow, deteriorated fans, temperature-sensor faults, or heat-stressed components are frequent underlying causes.

Color Wheel Failure

DLP projectors develop incorrect colors, flashing colors, rainbow artifacts, grinding or whining noises, or fail during startup with a color-wheel error. Bearing wear, motor failure, wheel damage, or loss of the color-wheel timing sensor signal are typical causes.

Dead / Stuck Pixels and Panel Defects

LCD monitors develop permanently bright, dark, or fixed red, green, or blue pixels that remain unchanged regardless of the displayed image. The failure originates from defective pixel or sub-pixel transistor structures within the LCD panel.

No Video / Input Port Failure

The display powers on but reports no signal or loses video through HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C even with a known-good source. Failed connector solder joints, damaged interface ICs, USB-C controller faults, or mainboard signal-processing problems can produce this condition.

DMD Chip / White-Dot Failure

BenQ DLP projectors can develop increasing numbers of fixed white or black dots across the projected image. This typically indicates stuck or failed micromirrors inside the DMD imaging chip and generally requires replacement of the DMD or optical assembly.

Cooling Fan Failure / Excessive Fan Noise

Projector fans become excessively loud, run at abnormal speed, intermittently stop, or generate fan-related startup and thermal errors. Worn fan bearings, obstructed cooling paths, failed tachometer feedback, or fan-control circuitry are common hardware causes.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
