Bang & Olufsen (B&O) is a Danish premium consumer-electronics manufacturer founded in Struer, Denmark, in 1925 by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen. The company specializes in luxury audio and home-entertainment products, including high-end loudspeakers, wireless home speakers, soundbars, headphones, earphones and integrated audiovisual systems. 2 Most Seen Failures:

Battery / Charging Failure

Rechargeable batteries in Beoplay headphones, earbuds, and portable Beosound/Beoplay speakers commonly deteriorate, stop accepting a charge, exhibit severely reduced runtime, or leave the device completely unresponsive. Charging-port, battery-management, and power-control faults can produce similar symptoms.

Bluetooth / Wireless Connection Failure

Beoplay headphones, E8 earbuds, and wireless Beosound products commonly experience failed pairing, repeated disconnects, inability to reconnect, or an unresponsive wireless interface. E8 models are particularly associated with synchronization loss between the left and right earbuds.

Power Supply / Capacitor Failure

Aging electrolytic capacitors are a major failure point in BeoLab speakers, BeoVision televisions, BeoCenter/BeoSound systems, and vintage Beogram equipment. Typical symptoms include no power, intermittent startup, humming, unstable operation, distortion, or complete shutdown.

Speaker Surround / Driver Deterioration

Older BeoLab and Beovox loudspeakers frequently develop deteriorated foam driver surrounds, resulting in rattling, buzzing, weak bass, or severe distortion. Aging ferrofluid and damaged individual drivers can additionally reduce midrange or high-frequency output.

CD Laser / Disc Reading Failure

BeoSound and BeoCenter CD systems commonly develop weak or failed optical pickups and associated servo faults as they age. Symptoms include "No Disc," difficulty recognizing CDs, skipping, failure to spin, playback stopping, or unreliable track access.

Belts / Mechanical Drive Failure

Rubber belts used in BeoSound, BeoCenter, Beogram, cassette, CD-door, and loading mechanisms stretch, harden, or break with age. This commonly causes stuck glass doors, jammed CD mechanisms, nonfunctional cassette transports, incorrect turntable speed, and other failed mechanical movements.

Amplifier / Audio Output Failure

Active BeoLab speakers and other amplified B&O products can develop failed amplifier stages, ICEpower modules, output components, relays, or associated power circuitry. Common symptoms are no sound, one dead channel, intermittent output, distortion, excessive hum, overheating, or protection shutdown.

HDMI / ARC / Audio Interface Failure

BeoVision televisions and products such as Beosound Stage can experience HDMI, ARC/eARC, CEC, or digital-audio communication problems. Symptoms include no TV audio, intermittent sound, inputs that stop responding, handshake failures, or audio unexpectedly reverting to the television.

Display / Backlight / Video Failure

BeoVision televisions and other display-equipped B&O products develop failed LED backlights, display panels, main boards, power circuitry, or display-control electronics. Typical symptoms include a black screen with power present, dim or flickering images, missing video, intermittent displays, or complete picture loss.
