B.M.C. Audio repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

End Use Segment

B.M.C. Audio, short for Balanced Music Concept, is a German high-end audio manufacturer founded in 2009 and led by engineer/designer Carlos Candeias. The company develops premium home-audio electronics and loudspeakers, including integrated and power amplifiers, DACs, phono stages, belt-driven CD players/transports, media servers, speakers, and specialized audio cables. Its engineering is particularly associated with fully balanced circuit topologies and proprietary technologies intended to minimize distortion without relying heavily on conventional negative feedback. The brand positions itself around natural, highly accurate music reproduction and distinctive industrial design, with products such as the CS-series amplifiers, MCCI phono stages, DAC1/UltraDAC, BD-series CD players, PureMedia, PureVox and Arcadia loudspeakers.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Intermittent Static or Crackling in One Channel

B.M.C. CS-series amplifiers can develop intermittent static or crackling isolated to one channel, with owner reports tracing the fault to a channel amplifier/LEF module. The symptom may worsen as the amplifier heats up.

USB Connection or Handshake Failure

PureDAC units can intermittently fail to establish a USB connection with a computer, especially after hot-plugging, restarting, or power cycling. B.M.C.'s own documentation describes USB-link failures, while owners have reported repeated reconnect/power-cycle attempts before the DAC is recognized.

USB Connected but No Audio

A PureDAC may appear correctly connected and display the incoming sample rate yet produce no sound. Power cycling the DAC or re-establishing the USB connection is a commonly documented recovery step.

No Power or Blank Display

DAC1, PureDAC, AMP S1, and Phono MCCI documentation all identify complete loss of operation/display as a primary fault symptom. Beyond external power issues, likely hardware causes include the internal fuse, power-supply circuitry, switching components, or associated connections.

Amplifier Protection / ERROR Condition

AMP S1 and related amplifier designs can enter an internal error or protection state and display ERROR rather than operate normally. Persistent recurrence after a power reset indicates an internal amplifier, protection, supply, or control-circuit fault requiring service.

Microcontroller Freeze or Control Lockup

B.M.C. documents that internal microcomputers can occasionally hang following electrostatic discharge or voltage spikes. Symptoms can include frozen controls, abnormal display behavior, loss of playback, or a unit that only recovers after being powered off for 30–60 seconds.

No Audio Output from Amplifier or DAC

Loss of audio despite the unit powering normally is a recurring troubleshooting category across B.M.C. amplifiers, DACs, and phono stages. Hardware-level causes can include failed signal-path modules, switching/control circuitry, output-stage faults, or disrupted DIGM/control communication.

Erratic or Incorrect Volume Control

PureDAC systems can exhibit unusual or unexpected line-output volume behavior, particularly around the B.M.C. LINK/DIGM control system. Faults or incorrect operation in the gain-management/control path can result in abnormal level changes, muted output, or unexpectedly high playback level.

Phono Channel Noise or Signal Loss

Phono MCCI hardware is highly dependent on its balanced current-injection input topology, and connection or input-stage problems can produce noise, hum, reduced output, or complete loss of a channel. Its very low-impedance input and sensitive front-end circuitry make input transistors, connectors, grounding, and associated protection components key failure areas.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
