Axel Technology repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Axel Technology S.r.l., marketed as AxelTech, is an Italian manufacturer and systems integrator specializing in professional radio and television broadcasting technology. Founded in 1996, the company develops hardware and software for broadcast studios, including Oxygen digital mixing consoles, Falcon audio processors, Macrotel telephone hybrids, stereo/RDS equipment, broadcast monitoring systems, radio automation, visual-radio platforms, TV playout and master-control solutions. It also designs and integrates complete turnkey radio and television facilities. AxelTech equipment is distributed internationally and is particularly known for its radio-studio consoles, FM/audio processing systems, automation platforms, and integrated broadcast workflows.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply / Fuse Failure

Unit will not power on, intermittently resets, or loses one or more internal voltage rails. Oxygen consoles and other Axel rack equipment specifically document blown mains/internal fuses and failed power-supply rails as troubleshooting conditions.

Audio Input Loss / No Audio

Analog, AES/EBU, SDI, or other program audio disappears even though the unit remains powered. Falcon processors explicitly monitor for audio-input failure and can trigger alarms or automatically change to a backup input.

Overheating / Temperature Fault

The processor becomes unstable, alarms, resets, or shuts down as internal temperature rises. Falcon and monitoring products include temperature alarms, while Axel specifies adequate ventilation and heat dissipation for console and processor installations.

Network / Ethernet Communication Failure

The unit becomes unreachable from its web interface, control software, or remote-management system despite continuing to operate locally. Failures commonly involve the Ethernet interface, network-control circuitry, or loss of communication with another Axel device.

Control Surface Fader / Button Failure

A channel fader, ON/START key, routing key, encoder, or other physical control stops responding or behaves intermittently. Oxygen consoles rely heavily on physical faders, illuminated switches, encoders, and their associated control electronics, making these common wear-related service points.

Telephone Line / Hybrid Interface Failure

Macrotel X1/X2 units fail to seize a telephone line, pass caller audio, detect calls, or properly separate transmit and receive audio. Axel specifically warns that telephone-line lightning and overvoltage can cause operating problems requiring the hybrid to be removed from service for inspection.

Display / Front-Panel Failure

The LCD/TFT display remains blank, freezes, becomes unreadable, or loses communication with the main processor while the device may otherwise remain powered. Oxygen consoles and multiple rack products depend on front-panel displays and local control electronics for setup and status monitoring.

Digital Sync / Clock Loss

AES, SDI, MPX, or other digital interfaces lose synchronization, producing silence, intermittent audio, errors, or alarm states. Axel monitoring equipment explicitly provides alarms for decoder synchronization and master-sync loss, while its digital processors rely on stable digital input timing.

Audio Distortion / Continuous Clipping

Output audio becomes harsh, distorted, excessively compressed, or clips continuously despite a valid input signal. Falcon processors specifically monitor continuous clipping as a fault condition, with problems potentially originating in input stages, DSP processing, level-control circuitry, or output sections.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
