AVMATRIX repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

AVMATRIX is a Chinese professional video equipment manufacturer operated by Zhangzhou Matrix Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., founded in 2015. The company designs, develops, manufactures, and markets hardware for high-definition video signal processing, with particular emphasis on FPGA-based switching, encoding, decoding, conversion, distribution, monitoring, and transmission. Its product portfolio includes multi-camera video switchers, SDI/HDMI converters, multiviewers, matrix routers, distribution amplifiers, fiber extenders, capture devices, encoders, PTZ camera controllers, signal generators, and related broadcast hardware. AVMATRIX products are aimed primarily at broadcast, live production, streaming, conferencing, education, medical-video, security, and other professional AV applications. The company is also active in OEM/ODM manufacturing and promotes an in-house R&D and production capability.

2 Most Seen Failures:

No Video Signal / Dead Video Input

SDI or HDMI inputs stop detecting otherwise valid sources, producing a black screen, color bars, or persistent “No Signal” indication. Common hardware causes include damaged HDMI connectors, worn BNC connections, failed input receiver ICs, ESD damage, or faults in the video-processing path.

Intermittent or Flickering Video Output

Program, multiview, HDMI, or SDI output intermittently drops, flashes, flickers, or loses synchronization. Typical causes include deteriorating output drivers, unstable internal power rails, heat-sensitive processing components, connector damage, or failing signal-conditioning circuitry.

Power Failure / Unit Will Not Start

The device shows no power LED, does not boot, or repeatedly loses power despite a known-good AC source. Faults commonly involve the external adapter, DC input jack, protection components, voltage regulators, or internal DC-DC power-supply circuitry.

Overheating / Thermal Shutdown

Converters, capture interfaces, and switchers can become excessively hot and begin freezing, dropping signals, or shutting down during prolonged operation. Suspect restricted cooling, failed or degraded fans on actively cooled models, thermal-interface deterioration, or heat-stressed FPGA and regulator circuitry.

USB Capture Not Detected or Drops Out

USB capture models may disappear from the host computer, fail to enumerate as a UVC/UAC device, operate intermittently, or stop transmitting video. After USB bandwidth and cable issues are eliminated, common hardware faults include damaged USB-C connectors, USB interface/controller failure, cracked connector solder joints, or unstable power regulation.

SDI Port Failure

One or more BNC inputs or outputs cease working while other ports on the same unit remain operational. Frequent physical reconnection can damage the BNC connector or PCB solder joints, while ESD, excessive cable stress, or electrical faults can damage the SDI receiver, reclocker, or output-driver circuitry.

HDMI Port Failure

An HDMI input, loop output, or program output develops intermittent detection, image dropouts, or complete loss of signal. Repeated insertion stress, damaged connector pins, cracked solder joints, ESD events, or failed HDMI receiver/transmitter ICs are typical hardware causes.

Control Panel / Buttons / T-Bar Unresponsive

Front-panel buttons, rotary controls, or the transition T-Bar stop responding or operate intermittently even though video processing continues. Likely faults include worn tactile switches, contaminated or damaged potentiometer/encoder assemblies, ribbon-cable connection problems, or failure in the front-panel control PCB.

Recording / SD Card Interface Failure

Switcher and encoder/recorder models may fail to recognize media, unexpectedly stop recording, or consistently refuse to start recording with known-compatible storage. Once card formatting and media compatibility are ruled out, likely faults include worn SD-card sockets, damaged contacts, storage-interface controller faults, or unstable internal supply rails.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
