Aviom repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Aviom is a U.S. professional-audio equipment manufacturer founded in 2002 and best known for its personal monitor mixing and digital audio networking systems. The company developed the proprietary A-Net digital audio transport platform and produces equipment such as the A640 and A320 personal mixers, D400/D800 network distributors, and related audio-distribution hardware. Aviom’s systems are designed for musicians, audio engineers, and installed-sound applications, including live performance, recording studios, broadcast facilities, theaters, schools, houses of worship, cruise ships, and post-production environments. Its Pro16 personal mixing platform established the company as a prominent specialist in musician-controlled monitor mixing, with Aviom reporting more than 150,000 personal mixers deployed worldwide.

2 Most Seen Failures:

No Power / Intermittent Power

Aviom personal mixers and distribution modules may fail to power on or may operate intermittently due to failed external power supplies, internal power-conversion components, damaged DC circuitry, or problems receiving power over A-Net. A-16II units have also been reported with intermittent operation specifically when powered through the network connection.

No Audio Output

The unit powers normally but produces no signal from the headphone or line output. Hardware causes can include failed output circuitry, damaged headphone jacks, defective DAC/audio stages, or faults in the incoming A-Net signal path.

A-Net Communication Failure

The mixer fails to receive digital audio or loses communication with an A-Net distributor or upstream module. Damaged RJ45 connectors, network interface circuitry, transformer/magnetics faults, or power-over-A-Net circuitry can produce complete or intermittent network loss.

Intermittent / Crackling Audio

Audio becomes noisy, crackles, drops out, or intermittently disappears while the unit remains powered. Common hardware suspects include worn connectors, failing headphone/output jacks, damaged A-Net connections, unstable power circuitry, or deteriorating analog output components.

Rotary Encoder Failure

Channel-volume or central control encoders can become erratic, skip values, move in the wrong direction, or stop responding. Replacement of worn encoders is a documented repair on older A-16II mixers and similar heavily used Aviom control surfaces.

Pushbutton / Tactile Switch Failure

Channel, mute, group, preset, or function buttons may require excessive pressure, respond intermittently, or stop registering completely. Aging surface-mount tactile switches are a recurring service item on older Aviom personal mixers.

Headphone Jack Failure

The 1/4-inch stereo output can become loose, intermittent, noisy, or lose one audio channel after repeated plugging and cable strain. Replacement headphone/output jacks are specifically documented as repair parts for Aviom personal mixers.

One-Sided / Mono Audio Output

Only the left or right channel may be heard, or a stereo output may unexpectedly behave as mono. Besides configuration-related causes, worn TRS jack contacts, cracked solder joints, or damaged output-stage components can cause persistent channel loss.

Firmware / Boot / Control Failure

A360 and Pro64-family hardware may fail to initialize correctly, reject firmware media, freeze during operation, or exhibit abnormal control behavior when firmware storage or update processes malfunction. Some apparent hardware failures can be recovered through firmware servicing, while persistent boot problems may indicate flash-memory or processor-board faults.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
