AudioQuest repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

AudioQuest is an American high-performance audio/video electronics manufacturer founded in 1980 and best known for its extensive range of premium speaker, analog interconnect, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, optical, digital-audio, subwoofer, and AC power cables. The company has expanded beyond cabling into products such as DragonFly USB DACs, Niagara and PowerQuest power conditioners and surge-protection products, noise-control devices, connectors, and vinyl/turntable accessories. AudioQuest positions its products around minimizing signal distortion and electrical noise, and it is particularly established in the specialist hi-fi, home-theater, and custom-install markets. Its products are sold internationally through thousands of dealer locations and distributors.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Loose or Failed Headphone Jack

The 3.5 mm output jack on DragonFly models can loosen from the PCB as repeated plug movement stresses or fractures its solder joints. Symptoms include intermittent audio, complete loss of output, or sound returning when pressure is applied to the headphone plug.

USB Connector Failure

DragonFly USB plugs can develop loose mechanical or solder connections, causing the DAC to disconnect or stop working when the connector moves. Audio may cut in and out depending on the physical position of the unit.

One Audio Channel Missing

DragonFly units can lose the left or right channel because of damaged headphone-jack contacts or cracked solder joints. Moving or pressing the headphone connector may temporarily restore the missing channel.

Intermittent Audio Dropout

Audio may play normally and then suddenly stop even though the DragonFly remains detected and powered. Reported causes include failing internal connections, USB communication instability, power-management behavior, or defective DAC hardware.

No Audio Despite Device Detection

A computer or mobile device may recognize the DragonFly while producing no headphone output. USB-audio configuration, operating-system compatibility, firmware, sample-rate settings, or internal DAC faults can produce this symptom.

Crackling, Static, or Distorted Audio

DragonFly users report crackling, popping, static, or severe distortion during playback. Problems may stem from unstable USB connections, firmware incompatibility, electrical noise, or deteriorating connector solder joints.

Overheating and Thermal Cutout

Some defective DragonFly units become unusually warm during operation and subsequently lose audio output. The behavior can indicate an internal power-regulation, DAC, or PCB fault rather than normal operating temperature.

Bluetooth Connection or Input Failure

AudioQuest Beetle units may fail to connect, appear unavailable, or provide no Bluetooth playback when another input has control or pairing becomes corrupted. Power loss, stored pairings, range problems, and USB or optical input priority are common contributing factors.

Power Conditioner Output Shutdown

Niagara power conditioners can remove power from their outlets when their protection circuitry detects excessive incoming voltage or an excessive load condition. Persistent no-output conditions can also point to relay, protection-circuit, or internal power-system faults.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
