AudioPressBox repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

AudioPressBox is a Slovak professional-audio OEM specializing in press conference and media audio-distribution equipment. Founded as a division of MediaTech Central Europe, the company develops and manufactures press boxes, distribution amplifiers, audio splitters, drive units and expanders designed to take a microphone, mixer, Dante or USB-C audio source and distribute it simultaneously to multiple journalists, cameras, recorders and broadcasters. Its range includes portable battery-powered units as well as rack, wall-mounted and in-wall systems, with analog XLR, Dante and USB-C connectivity. AudioPressBox is particularly known for its broad range of dedicated press-distribution systems and Dante-enabled press boxes used in government briefings, broadcast environments, sporting events, corporate events and other situations where many media outlets need isolated, reliable feeds from the same audio source.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply / No-Power Failure

Units may fail to power on because of a defective external 24 VDC adapter, damaged DC input connector, power switch, internal regulator, or associated power circuitry. This is most applicable to active portable and rack-mount AudioPressBox models.

Rechargeable Battery Failure

Portable models with internal Li-ion AccuPacks can develop reduced runtime, failure to charge, rapid discharge, or complete battery failure as the cells and battery-management circuitry age. Battery-equipped models such as the APB-116 P, APB-216 C, and APB-224 C are particularly susceptible over long service periods.

XLR Connector Failure

Repeated connection and removal of microphones, recorders, and broadcast equipment can wear or mechanically damage XLR input and output connectors. Symptoms include intermittent audio, complete loss of an individual channel, crackling, or signal changes when the cable is moved.

Individual Output Channel Failure

One or more microphone/line outputs can stop passing audio while the remaining outputs continue operating normally. Likely causes include failed output-driver components, damaged transformer connections, switching contacts, solder joints, or XLR hardware associated with that channel.

Input Preamplifier Failure

A failed microphone/line input stage can produce no audio, weak audio, excessive noise, or severe distortion across all outputs fed from that input. Faults may involve the preamplifier ICs, gain-control circuitry, input switching, protection components, or related power rails.

Phantom Power Failure

The 48 V phantom-power circuit can fail to energize condenser microphones even though dynamic microphones and line-level sources continue working. Common underlying faults include failed DC-DC converter circuitry, switching components, capacitors, or the phantom-power switch itself.

Mic/Line Switching Failure

Mechanical Mic/Line and output-level switches can become intermittent, contaminated, or electrically worn after extensive use. This can cause abnormally low or high output levels, missing audio, distortion, or channels that operate only when the switch is moved or held in a particular position.

Dante / Network Interface Failure

Dante-equipped AudioPressBox models can lose network detection or digital audio because of RJ45/EtherCON damage, PoE/power problems, network-interface electronics, or Dante-module faults. Affected units may still retain functioning analog circuitry while failing to appear or route correctly in Dante Controller.

Audio Distortion / Clipping Circuit Failure

Failures or degradation in the gain, compressor/limiter, filtering, or analog signal-processing stages can produce clipping, distorted audio, abnormal gain, or unstable output levels even with correctly configured inputs. Aging capacitors, op-amps, potentiometers, switches, or associated analog circuitry are typical component-level causes.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
