Audioengine repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Audioengine, LLC is a privately owned American consumer-audio company founded in 2005, focused on compact, high-quality home and desktop music systems. Its core products are powered bookshelf/desktop speakers, complemented by subwoofers, wireless/Bluetooth receivers, DACs, headphone amplifiers, and related audio accessories. Audioengine designs its products for straightforward connection to computers, phones, televisions, turntables, and streaming sources, combining traditional analog audio with USB, optical, and high-resolution wireless connectivity. The company is particularly known for its powered speaker systems—including the A2+, A5+, and HD series—which package amplification and connectivity directly into compact speaker enclosures. Audioengine describes itself as a Texas-based company, with quality-assurance operations in Sherman, Texas, while product markings, regulatory filings, and current import records demonstrate that production is principally sourced from manufacturers in Guangdong, China.

2 Most Seen Failures:

[One Speaker / Audio Channel Not Working]

One speaker or one stereo channel produces no audio while the other operates normally. This is repeatedly documented across A1, A2+, HD3, HD4, A5+, HD6, and B1-related troubleshooting and can involve the speaker interconnect, input cable, source, or internal channel electronics.

[No Power / Unit Will Not Turn On]

The speaker, amplifier, receiver, or subwoofer shows no power indication and produces no audio. Common points associated with this symptom include the external power supply, AC connection, power cable, and the unit's power circuitry.

[Hum / Buzz / Static Noise]

Audible humming, buzzing, or static occurs through the speakers or subwoofer, sometimes even without music playing. Audioengine frequently associates this symptom with ground loops, AC-line noise, RF/EMI interference, source outputs, or cabling.

[Distorted / Crackling / Popping Audio]

Audio becomes distorted, crackles, pops, or otherwise loses clarity during playback. Audioengine troubleshooting identifies source equipment, defective or poorly seated cables, interference, excessive input/EQ levels, power conditions, and speaker-side faults as possible causes.

[Bluetooth Pairing / Connection Failure]

Bluetooth-equipped Audioengine hardware fails to pair, reconnect, or maintain a connection with the source device. Documented troubleshooting includes failed discovery, another device already occupying the connection, corrupted pairing state, range problems, and source-device Bluetooth/OS issues.

[Bluetooth Audio Dropouts / Poor Wireless Audio]

Bluetooth playback intermittently cuts out, stutters, or suffers degraded sound quality despite a connection being established. Wireless interference, excessive distance, nearby routers or phones, and competing Bluetooth devices are repeatedly identified as causes.

[USB DAC Not Recognized / No USB Audio]

A computer fails to recognize the USB audio interface or recognizes it but produces no sound through USB. This is documented particularly for USB-equipped models such as the A2+ and HD3 and can involve the operating system's USB audio driver, configuration, cable, or connection state.

[Subwoofer No Output / Premature Standby]

The powered subwoofer has power but produces no bass, remains in standby, or enters standby while audio is playing. Audioengine's S8 troubleshooting associates this with insufficient input signal, incorrect connections, source/receiver settings, or volume configuration.

[Thermal Shutdown / Amplifier Cuts Out]

Powered speakers or subwoofers shut down after extended or high-output operation when the internal thermal protection activates. Audioengine states that its powered speakers and subwoofers use thermal protection that can shut down the amplifier when operation exceeds its designated power conditions.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
