Audio-Technica repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Audio-Technica is a Japanese audio-equipment manufacturer founded in 1962, originally becoming known for high-performance phono cartridges before expanding into microphones, headphones, wireless microphone systems, turntables, conferencing equipment, mixers, and other professional and consumer audio electronics. It designs and manufactures products for recording studios, broadcast, live sound, corporate and government installations, houses of worship, content creation, and home listening. The company remains particularly well known for its microphones, studio/monitoring headphones, turntables and phono cartridges, and it also operates as an OEM supplier of audio transducers and related specialty devices.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Intermittent or Missing Audio in One Channel

One earcup loses audio, becomes quieter, or cuts in and out, particularly on ATH-M50x-family headphones. Common hardware causes include broken internal headband wiring, fatigued solder joints, damaged jack contacts, or failed driver connections.

Headband Hinge and Swivel Failure

Hinges, yokes, and swivel assemblies can crack, loosen, or separate after repeated folding and adjustment. Damage can also strain or break the internal cable routed through the hinge, causing additional audio failure.

Battery Will Not Charge

Bluetooth headphones such as ATH-M50xBT-series models may stop accepting a charge or remain completely inactive when connected to power. Battery degradation, protection-circuit lockout, charging-board faults, or connector problems are frequent causes.

Bluetooth Pairing or Connection Failure

Wireless headphones and earbuds may fail to enter pairing mode, repeatedly disconnect, or stop establishing a stable Bluetooth link. Failed wireless control electronics, firmware lockups, antenna problems, or power instability can produce these symptoms.

Charging Case or Earbud Charging Failure

True-wireless earbuds may fail to charge even when seated in the charging case. Contaminated or worn charging contacts, weak case batteries, damaged pogo pins, and charging-control faults are common hardware-related causes.

Turntable Platter Will Not Spin

AT-LP-series turntables can power on while the platter remains stationary or struggles to start. A slipped, stretched, broken, or incorrectly positioned drive belt is particularly common on belt-driven models such as the AT-LP60 and AT-LP60X.

Turntable Speed Instability

Playback may run too fast, too slow, or fluctuate during operation. Stretched belts, motor deterioration, contaminated mechanisms, pitch-control faults, or aging speed-control electronics can cause unstable platter rotation.

Stylus Skipping or Poor Tracking

The stylus may jump grooves, repeatedly skip, or fail to track records correctly. Worn or damaged styli, cartridge problems, tonearm mechanism faults, incorrect tracking force, or vibration-related mechanical issues are typical causes.

Microphone or Audio Output Failure

Audio-Technica microphones, mixers, and USB audio products may produce no signal, intermittent output, distortion, or unusually low levels. Failed connectors, damaged cables, capsule faults, USB interface electronics, preamp circuitry, or internal solder connections are common hardware causes.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
