Audeze repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Audeze LLC is a U.S. premium audio technology manufacturer best known for its planar magnetic headphones and proprietary transducer technology. Founded in 2008, the company designs products for audiophile listening, professional recording/mixing, and gaming, including its LCD, MM, CRBN, and Maxwell product families. Audeze manufactures every planar magnetic and electrostatic driver at its factory in Santa Ana, Orange County, California, and states that its U.S. team hand-assembles and tests its higher-end headphones there. Its products are particularly known for high-resolution, low-distortion sound reproduction and the company's proprietary planar magnetic driver technologies. Audeze also develops spatial-audio and software/DSP technologies.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Planar Driver / Diaphragm Failure

One earcup loses output, becomes significantly quieter, develops distortion, or stops producing audio entirely. Reported across Maxwell and LCD-family headphones, with planar diaphragms also susceptible to damage from abrupt pressure changes.

Hinge / Yoke / Headband Structural Failure

Hinges, yokes, mounting points, or headband components crack, separate, or break during normal handling. Structural breakage is particularly recurrent in owner reports for Mobius, Penrose, and some Maxwell units.

Wireless Dongle Connection Failure

The USB wireless dongle may stop connecting, repeatedly disconnect and reconnect, lose pairing, or fail to be detected. Maxwell has extensive manufacturer troubleshooting specifically addressing dongle detection, firmware, pairing, and reconnection problems.

Wireless Audio Dropouts

Audio intermittently cuts out, clicks, stutters, or loses its wireless connection. Audeze identifies 2.4 GHz interference, USB-port interference, obstructions, and connection instability as potential causes.

Sidetone Static / Crackling / Feedback

Enabling microphone sidetone can introduce persistent hiss, static, crackling, popping, or feedback into the headphones. Audeze has acknowledged sidetone noise and feedback behavior and has repeatedly adjusted it through firmware.

Microphone Failure / Abnormally Low Output

The boom or internal microphone may produce unusually low output, degraded audio, stop transmitting, or remain incorrectly muted. Audeze documents dedicated microphone troubleshooting, while firmware revisions have corrected several microphone-loss and mute-state faults.

Driver Crinkling / Clicking Becoming Excessive

The ultra-thin planar diaphragm can produce crinkling or clicking as pressure changes around the earcup; mild instances are considered normal by Audeze. More severe cases reported by owners can accompany visibly deformed or damaged driver membranes and worsening noise.

Bluetooth / Multi-Connection Failure

Bluetooth can drop, fail to switch correctly, interrupt dongle audio, or behave incorrectly when AUX, USB, and wireless connections are used together. Multiple generations of Maxwell firmware have addressed Bluetooth, connection-priority, and simultaneous-input faults.

Power / Charging / Unexpected Restart Failure

Affected units may shut down unexpectedly, restart during connection changes, exhibit charging irregularities, or behave incorrectly at low battery. Audeze firmware histories document fixes to shutdown, charging, restart, and power-state behavior.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
