Asus repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

ASUSTeK Computer Inc., better known as ASUS, is a Taiwan-based computer and consumer-electronics company focused on the design, development, and sale of PCs and related hardware. Its portfolio includes notebook and desktop PCs, gaming computers, motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, networking equipment, servers, handheld devices, and other computer components and peripherals. ASUS is particularly well known for PCs and motherboards, as well as its Republic of Gamers (ROG) gaming product line. The company describes its principal activities as the design, R&D, and sale of PCs, motherboards, boards/cards, tablets, smartphones, and related devices, while much of the physical assembly is performed through a global network of manufacturing partners.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Motherboard / Power-Circuit Failure

ASUS laptops, particularly performance-oriented ROG/TUF and some VivoBook/ZenBook models, can develop no-power, no-boot, or black-screen failures caused by motherboard power rails, charging ICs, fuses, or other board-level components. Affected machines may show no charging LED at all or briefly illuminate the keyboard before shutting down.

Overheating and Thermal Shutdown

ROG and TUF gaming laptops commonly present with excessive temperatures, thermal throttling, crashes, or shutdowns under sustained load. Dust-clogged heatsinks, degraded thermal compound, poor heatsink contact, and cooling-system deterioration are frequent causes.

Cooling-Fan Failure

Cooling fans can develop worn bearings, erratic operation, grinding or clicking noises, or stop spinning altogether. Loss of effective fan operation raises component temperatures and can cause throttling, instability, or automatic shutdowns.

Battery Degradation or Swelling

ZenBook, VivoBook, ROG, and other ASUS notebooks can develop substantially reduced battery capacity or swollen lithium-polymer cells as they age. Severe swelling can distort the chassis or push upward on the trackpad or bottom cover.

Display Panel / Backlight Failure

ASUS notebook displays can develop black screens, flickering, artifacts, lines, dead backlights, or complete panel failure. OLED ZenBook/VivoBook panels and high-refresh-rate ROG/TUF displays can be particularly costly assemblies to replace.

Display Hinge / Hinge-Mount Failure

Laptop hinges can become stiff, loose, cracked, or detach from their internal mounting points after repeated opening and closing. Failure of the hinge mounts can separate the display housing and may eventually damage display or antenna cables.

Charging-Port / Charging-Circuit Failure

ASUS systems can stop charging because of worn or damaged DC/USB-C ports, failed charging circuitry, or related motherboard faults. Typical symptoms include intermittent charging, failure to recognize the adapter, or a completely dead machine despite a connected charger.

Keyboard / Key Failure

Built-in ASUS keyboards can develop individual dead keys, intermittent input, unresponsive sections, or complete keyboard failure. Physical key mechanisms and keyboard assemblies can fail independently, while some apparently similar symptoms originate from connectors or the motherboard.

Internal Display / Flex-Cable Failure

Display and auxiliary-screen cables can loosen, wear, or fail, producing intermittent video, flickering, blank displays, or touch-function loss. Convertible models and specialized machines such as dual-screen/ScreenPad-equipped ASUS laptops have additional flex cables and connectors that can become failure points.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
