Astera Lights repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Astera LED Technology GmbH is a German professional lighting technology company specializing in wireless, battery-powered LED lighting systems for film, television, live events, stage productions and related entertainment applications. The company develops hardware, software and wireless-control technologies, while manufacturing is handled through its Astera Manufacturing operation in Shenzhen, China. Its product portfolio includes LED tubes, spotlights, bulbs and other portable fixtures featuring integrated batteries, wireless DMX/app control and professional color-management capabilities. Astera is particularly known for pioneering wireless event lighting and for its Titan Tube, which became a prominent portable LED fixture for cinematographers, gaffers and production crews. Astera's own manufacturing organization describes itself as the OEM/EMS manufacturer for Astera LED Technology, and certification records directly identify the Shenzhen entity as the manufacturer of Astera-branded products.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Battery Runtime Degradation

Internal lithium-ion batteries gradually lose capacity, causing AX1 PixelTubes, Titan Tubes, and related battery-powered fixtures to run for substantially less time than expected. Cold storage, deep discharge, battery age, and repeated charge cycles can accelerate or expose the loss of runtime.

Battery Will Not Charge

The fixture fails to begin or complete charging even when connected to the correct charger or PowerBox. Charging can be inhibited by battery temperature, particularly above approximately 45°C, while persistent failures may indicate a degraded battery, charging circuit, connector, or power-system fault.

Fixture Will Not Power On

The fixture remains completely unresponsive when the power control is operated. Common causes include a depleted or deteriorated battery, charging/power faults, or—on new Titan Tubes—the unit remaining in shipping mode until AC power is connected.

LED Output Failure / No Light

The fixture powers up and its display or status indicators operate, but the LED array produces no visible output. Configuration states such as blackout, standby, or missing DMX can mimic this failure, while persistent cases can indicate an LED-driver, power-distribution, or internal electronics fault.

Incorrect or Stuck Color/Effect Output

The fixture produces light but displays the wrong color, effect, pixel behavior, or previously programmed state. Stored settings and control-mode conflicts are frequent causes, with Astera recommending a settings reset between setups when abnormal output persists.

Wireless / AsteraApp Connection Failure

The fixture cannot be discovered, paired, or reliably controlled through the AsteraApp or wireless control system. Radio-PIN mismatches, pairing state, incorrect input selection, or an existing transmitter association can prevent communication even though the fixture otherwise operates normally.

Thermal Shutdown / Automatic Output Reduction

High internal temperature causes the fixture to reduce LED output and can also suspend battery charging. Titan Tube documentation specifically describes automatic brightness reduction during overheating and charging lockout until the battery cools below the permitted temperature.

Internal PCB / Power Connection Failure

The fixture intermittently loses power or stops operating because an internal PCB or electrical connection becomes mechanically unreliable. Field reports for Titan Tubes specifically describe vibration-associated internal board/connection failures, although publicly available evidence is insufficient to establish a manufacturer-wide failure rate.

DMX / Control Signal Failure

The fixture powers on but fails to respond correctly to wired or wireless DMX, or remains dark because it is waiting for a valid control signal. Incorrect input selection, addressing, pairing, retained configuration, or loss of the DMX/CRMX signal can make otherwise functional hardware appear defective.

1 Acme Revival offers repair, service, and part rebuild opportunities for most Astera Lights devices.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
