ASKO is a premium European household-appliance brand with Scandinavian roots, specializing in major residential appliances including dishwashers, washing machines, tumble dryers, refrigerators/freezers, ovens, cooktops, range hoods and related kitchen appliances. Historically, ASKO manufactured appliances in Sweden and Finland, but after its acquisition by Gorenje, significant production was consolidated into Gorenje's large manufacturing operation in Velenje, Slovenia; Gorenje subsequently became part of Hisense. ASKO is particularly associated with minimalist Scandinavian industrial design, premium built-in kitchen appliances, robust laundry equipment and dishwashers, positioning the brand toward the higher end of the residential appliance market. Current regulatory documentation confirms that at least ASKO's current washing-machine lines are manufactured under Gorenje gospodinjski aparati in Velenje.
Drain pumps commonly become obstructed by debris or develop worn/seized motors, leaving ASKO washers and dishwashers unable to evacuate water. Symptoms include standing water, incomplete cycles, drainage error codes, or abnormal pump noise.
Door-lock assemblies, microswitches, and latch mechanisms can fail mechanically or electrically, preventing washers, dryers, and dishwashers from recognizing that the door is safely closed. The appliance may refuse to start, stop during a cycle, or leave the door locked after completion.
Electric heating elements and heater banks can burn open in ASKO dryers, washers, and dishwashers. Typical symptoms include clothes remaining damp, water failing to reach the programmed temperature, extended cycles, and heating-related fault codes.
Solenoid inlet valves can stick, clog, leak, or electrically fail, causing slow filling, no filling, or uncontrolled water entry. ASKO service documentation specifically associates inlet-valve and level-system problems with water-supply and overflow faults.
Main electronic control boards can develop failed relays, damaged components, or power-output faults that interrupt pumps, heaters, motors, valves, or other loads. Failures may present as a completely dead appliance, intermittent operation, unexplained error codes, or individual components receiving no commanded voltage.
NTC thermistors and temperature sensors can drift out of specification, short, or become electrically open. ASKO appliances may subsequently heat incorrectly, stop heating, overheat, terminate cycles prematurely, or generate thermistor/temperature fault codes.
ASKO dryers can develop stretched or broken drive belts and worn drum rollers, idlers, bearings, or related drum-support components. Common symptoms are a stationary drum, squealing or rumbling noises, difficult drum rotation, or the motor running while the drum does not turn.
Washer wash motors, dryer drive motors, dishwasher circulation motors, and their associated control electronics can fail or become mechanically locked. Symptoms include a non-turning drum, loss of wash-water circulation, humming, intermittent operation, or motor-related fault codes.
Dryer blower systems and refrigerator evaporator/condenser fans can become obstructed, worn, or electrically defective, reducing required airflow. In dryers this can cause overheating and long drying times, while refrigeration models can develop uneven temperatures or inadequate cooling.
