Ashly Audio repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Ashly Audio is a U.S. professional-audio equipment manufacturer founded in 1974 in Webster, New York. The company specializes in commercial and installed-sound electronics, particularly power amplifiers, DSP/matrix processors, digital and analog signal processors, mixers, networked audio equipment, and audio-control software. Its products are widely designed for fixed installations and professional sound environments such as houses of worship, schools, hospitality venues, sports facilities, corporate spaces, performance venues, and live-sound systems. Ashly is especially known for its power amplification, Protēa DSP platform, Dante/network-audio integration, flexible system processing, and a longstanding emphasis on equipment reliability and durability. Ashly currently operates as a division of JAM Industries/Exertis JAM.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Amplifier Channel Failure

One or more amplifier channels produce no output, intermittent audio, severe distortion, or immediately enter protect mode. Common underlying faults include failed output transistors/MOSFETs, driver-stage components, current-sensing circuitry, or channel power modules.

Power Supply Failure

The unit will not power on, shuts down unexpectedly, or indicates a supply/rail fault. Aging capacitors, switching-power-supply components, internal fuses, rectifiers, or regulator circuitry are common areas of failure.

Thermal Shutdown / Overheating

Amplifiers mute or enter thermal protection after operating under load, sometimes repeatedly cycling between normal and protected operation. Failed or obstructed cooling fans, dust accumulation, deteriorated thermal interfaces, or heat-stressed output devices can cause excessive internal temperatures.

Protect Mode / Overcurrent Fault

The amplifier remains in protect mode, repeatedly clicks its output relays, or mutes one or more channels. Shorted output devices, excessive current draw, low-impedance loads, damaged speaker-output circuitry, or protection-sensing faults can trigger this condition.

Intermittent or Missing Audio Output

Audio intermittently drops out or disappears from individual inputs, outputs, or channels despite the unit remaining powered. Faults can originate from deteriorated relays, connectors, solder joints, analog switching circuitry, gain stages, or aging internal components.

Control Potentiometer / Fader Failure

Level controls, mixer faders, or rotary controls become noisy, intermittent, erratic, or develop dead spots. Mechanical wear and contamination of potentiometer tracks and contacts are particularly common on older Ashly mixers, crossovers, equalizers, and processors.

Network / DSP Communication Failure

Protēa-equipped processors and network amplifiers may stop appearing in control software or fail to communicate reliably over Ethernet. Faults can involve the Ethernet interface, network-controller circuitry, DSP/control board, firmware storage, or associated power rails.

Clipping / Distorted Audio

An amplifier or processor produces distorted audio, clips prematurely, or shows persistent clip/limit indications at otherwise reasonable operating levels. Failures in input stages, gain circuitry, power-amplifier stages, power-supply rails, or DSP/analog conversion circuitry can cause abnormal clipping.

Relay / Output Muting Failure

The device powers up but audio outputs remain muted, engage only intermittently, or produce repeated relay clicking. Aging protection relays, relay-driver circuits, DC-detection circuitry, or an underlying amplifier fault preventing the protection circuit from releasing can cause the symptom.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
