ARRI repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

ARRI (Arnold & Richter Cine Technik) is a German professional cinema-technology manufacturer founded in Munich in 1917 and one of the most established suppliers of equipment for motion-picture, television, broadcast, and high-end content production. Its hardware portfolio centers on professional digital cinema cameras, film cameras, cinema lenses, camera accessories and systems, and professional LED/studio lighting, alongside rental and production-related services. ARRI is particularly known for its ALEXA digital cinema camera family, including systems such as the ALEXA 35 and ALEXA Mini LF, as well as its long-running ARRIFLEX film-camera heritage and professional lighting platforms such as SkyPanel and Orbiter. Its imaging systems are extensively used in major feature-film and television production, and ARRI's engineering contributions have received numerous Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power / Boot Failure

ARRI ALEXA, ALEXA Mini, Mini LF, and AMIRA bodies can develop intermittent or complete no-boot conditions, including flashing status LEDs with no viewfinder output. Faults may originate in power-input circuitry, internal power boards, connectors, or damaged external power accessories.

Cooling Fan Failure / Overheating

Cooling fans can become noisy, slow, obstructed, or fail completely, causing elevated internal or sensor temperatures and thermal warnings. ARRI cameras rely heavily on active fan-and-radiator cooling, making fan wear or airflow problems significant hardware faults.

Recording Media / Write Failure

ALEXA and AMIRA cameras can report media write-speed errors, interrupted recordings, unreadable media, or cards that require reformatting after an abnormal shutdown. Problems may involve worn or incompatible media, damaged CFast/Codex interfaces, or the camera's media-slot electronics.

EVF / Viewfinder Failure

ARRI electronic viewfinders can develop blank displays, intermittent video, freezing, control failures, or loss of communication with the camera body. Faults may involve the EVF electronics, display assembly, connection cable, connector, or associated camera interface circuitry.

Control Button / Encoder Failure

Body and viewfinder buttons, rotary encoders, and switches can become intermittent, unresponsive, or generate incorrect inputs after extensive professional use. ARRI specifically identifies recurring button-signal failures as a predominantly hardware problem that can require button replacement.

Lens Data System / Lens Communication Failure

LDS-equipped ARRI cameras can lose communication with compatible lenses, resulting in missing or incorrect iris, focus, or lens metadata. Common hardware causes include dirty or damaged mount contacts, connector wear, lens-mount electronics, or failure within the LDS interface.

SDI / External I/O Failure

BNC SDI outputs and other heavily used external interfaces can develop intermittent or complete signal loss from connector wear, impact damage, cable stress, or failed interface electronics. Repeated production use makes physical connector and I/O-board damage a recurring service issue.

Sensor / Image Artifact Failure

ARRI cameras can develop persistent pixels, abnormal image artifacts, contamination visible in the image, or sensor-temperature-related imaging problems. Depending on the fault, service may involve the sensor cover glass, sensor cooling system, calibration, or sensor/electronics assembly.

Internal Electronics Board Failure

ALEXA and AMIRA bodies can suffer system errors, intermittent operation, lost interfaces, or complete subsystem failures when an internal electronics board develops a fault. ARRI's advanced service program specifically covers diagnosis and exchange of electronics boards, reflecting their role as a major repair category.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
