Appsys repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Appsys ProAudio is a Zürich-founded specialist OEM that designs professional digital-audio hardware for connecting, converting, routing, extending, and distributing signals between otherwise incompatible audio standards. Its best-known products include the Multiverter MVR series, modular Flexiverter converters, and ADAT/TOSLINK extension and distribution hardware. Its equipment supports professional standards such as Dante/AES67, MADI, AES3, AES50, ADAT and word clock, making the products particularly relevant to broadcast facilities, recording and production studios, live-sound systems, digital mixing installations, and professional AV infrastructure. Appsys performs product development in Switzerland while its German manufacturing partner handles electronics/mechanical assembly, QA, and logistics. The company is particularly known for compact, highly flexible multi-format audio conversion hardware—the Multiverter is positioned as a multi-purpose bridge between numerous professional digital-audio formats.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Intermittent or Failed Connectors

Repeated insertion cycles can wear optical, BNC, RJ45, USB, HDMI-style FlexLink, or power connectors across Multiverter and Flexiverter models. Symptoms include intermittent links, channel dropouts, or complete signal loss when cables move.

Power-Supply Failure

MVR-64, MVR-mkII, and related converters may fail to start, reset unexpectedly, or operate from only one redundant input when an internal supply or external DC source fails. Power indicators may remain dark or show that one input is unavailable.

Clock Synchronization Loss

A failed or unstable word-clock input, interface receiver, or clock-generation circuit prevents the unit from locking to the selected source. Audio may mute, click, distort, or repeatedly drop while the interface reports data without a valid system clock.

Digital Audio Interface Failure

MADI, AES50, AES3, ADAT, Dante, or FlexLink interface circuitry can stop detecting or transmitting valid audio. The affected port may show no link, accept a physical connection without valid data, or lose every channel assigned to that interface.

Optical Transceiver Failure

The optical transmitter or receiver used by MADI, ADAT, AES3, or S/PDIF models can weaken or fail. This produces one-way communication, reduced reliable cable distance, intermittent lock, or a completely dark optical output.

Ethernet or Dante Module Failure

The network interface can lose link, disappear from Dante Controller, or become unreachable through the web and command-line interfaces. Audio transport, remote configuration, and firmware-dependent network functions may all become unavailable.

Firmware Corruption or Incompatible Firmware

Interrupted updates, corrupted firmware, or incompatible versions between a Multiverter and an expansion module can prevent startup or disable supported interfaces. The unit may boot incorrectly, fail self-tests, ignore an attached module, or require firmware recovery.

Sample-Rate Converter Module Failure

SRC-64 or SRC-128 hardware can fail initialization, self-testing, or conversion between independent clock domains. Affected channels may be silent, distorted, or unavailable even though routing within a single clock domain continues to work.

Front-Panel Control or Display Failure

Rotary encoders, buttons, LEDs, or display circuitry can wear out or develop electrical faults. The converter may continue passing audio but become difficult to configure, display incorrect status, or stop responding to local controls.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
