Battery Degradation / Battery Failure

Lithium-ion batteries in iPhone, MacBook, Apple Watch, and other rechargeable Apple hardware lose capacity with age and charge cycles. Symptoms include short runtime, unexpected shutdowns, failure to charge, swelling, or inability to power on.

Display / Screen Failure

Apple devices can develop blank screens, image artifacts, flickering, lines, backlight problems, or complete display failure. Touch-enabled models may additionally experience intermittent, inaccurate, or completely nonfunctional touch input.

Keyboard / Key Failure

MacBook keyboards can develop keys that repeat characters, fail to register, feel sticky, or respond inconsistently. Certain MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro generations were sufficiently affected that Apple established a dedicated Keyboard Service Program.

Charging Port / Power-Input Failure

Lightning, USB-C, Thunderbolt, MagSafe, and associated charging circuitry can develop intermittent or complete connection failures. Typical symptoms include failure to charge, accessory-detection problems, unreliable data connections, or a device that receives no external power.

Camera / Camera Module Failure

iPhone and other Apple camera systems can suffer failed sensors, stabilization mechanisms, focus systems, or associated electronics, resulting in shaking, blurry images, black previews, or no camera output. Apple established a service program specifically for affected iPhone 14 Plus units whose rear camera produces no preview.

Speaker / Microphone / Audio Failure

Speakers, microphones, receivers, and associated audio circuitry can fail or deteriorate, producing distorted, crackling, quiet, or completely absent sound. Apple confirmed a receiver-module failure affecting some iPhone 12/12 Pro devices and sound/ANC failures in some early AirPods Pro units.

Logic Board / Mainboard Failure

Failures involving the logic board, power-management circuitry, storage, connectors, or other board-level components can cause no-power conditions, crashes, restart loops, peripheral failures, or a completely dead device. Logic-board replacement is an established Apple repair procedure on supported Mac models.

Biometric Sensor Failure

Face ID and Touch ID systems can stop authenticating because of failures involving the TrueDepth camera, Touch ID sensor, related flex cables, or associated electronics. Symptoms include unavailable biometric authentication, repeated recognition failures, or inability to complete Face ID/Touch ID setup.

Buttons / Trackpad / Other Input Failure

Physical controls such as power, volume, Home, Digital Crown, trackpads, and related switches or flex assemblies can become intermittent or stop responding. Apple repair documentation includes dedicated troubleshooting for button, switch, trackpad, Touch ID/power-button, and other input-device faults.
