Apantac repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Apantac is a privately held professional broadcast and ProAV equipment manufacturer founded in 2008, specializing in video multiviewers, video-wall processors, signal converters/scalers, distribution amplifiers, fiber and CATx extenders, KVM systems, matrix/switching products, and openGear-compatible signal-processing hardware. Its major platforms include TAHOMA multiviewers, TAHOMA CRESCENT video-wall systems, CRESCENT signal-processing products, MAZAMA fiber-optic extenders, and MT HOOD extension/conversion products. The company is particularly known for multiviewing and image/signal-processing equipment used in broadcast control rooms, production facilities, professional AV, command-and-control environments, digital signage, enterprise AV, medical imaging, government, and education.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply Failure

Unit is completely dead, intermittently restarts, or fails to complete startup because of a failed internal or external power supply. Aging capacitors, regulator faults, and continuous 24/7 operation are common contributors in rack-mounted multiviewers and signal-processing equipment.

Video Input Not Detected

One or more HDMI, SDI, DVI, or other video inputs stop locking to an otherwise valid source. Faults can originate in the input receiver, equalizer, connector, protection circuitry, or associated input-processing channel.

No Video Output

The multiviewer, converter, scaler, or extender powers on but produces no usable HDMI or SDI output. Output-driver failure, damaged connectors, failed processing circuitry, or loss of synchronization can produce a black or absent display.

Ethernet / Network Control Failure

The device becomes unreachable through jDirector, Director, Dashboard, or IP-based control even though the main video path may continue operating. Failed Ethernet PHYs, damaged RJ45 ports, controller faults, or corrupted network configuration are typical causes.

EDID / HDMI Handshake Failure

HDMI sources or displays intermittently show no picture, incorrect resolution, or repeated signal acquisition because EDID or HDCP negotiation does not complete correctly. This is especially relevant to HDMI multiviewers, scalers, extenders, and KVM products where source-to-display compatibility depends on reliable handshake circuitry.

Boot / Firmware Startup Failure

The unit freezes during startup, becomes unresponsive, or boots without normal processing functions. Corrupted firmware or configuration memory, failing flash storage, and processor-board faults can require a factory reset, firmware recovery, or board-level repair.

Cooling Fan / Thermal Failure

A failed, obstructed, or worn cooling fan causes excessive internal temperature, abnormal fan noise, intermittent operation, or thermal shutdown. Continuous-duty multiviewers and densely populated rack equipment are particularly susceptible as fans and bearings age.

Individual Channel / Scaler Failure

A specific multiviewer input, window, or processing channel remains black, frozen, incorrectly scaled, or otherwise defective while other channels continue functioning. The fault commonly traces to the channel's receiver, FPGA/scaler path, memory, or associated board circuitry.

Audio Embed / De-embed Failure

Video remains present while embedded audio disappears, becomes distorted, loses channels, or fails to follow the selected source. Failures can occur in HDMI/SDI audio extraction, embedding circuitry, digital audio interfaces, or the processing path responsible for routing audio with video.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
