Analogue Solutions repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Analogue Solutions is a British boutique electronic-instrument manufacturer founded and led by synthesizer designer Tom Carpenter. The company specializes in true analogue synthesizers, sequencers, modular/Eurorack systems, and related electronic music instruments, with products including the Leipzig, Impulse Command, Fusebox, Vostok, Nyborg, Polymath, Colossus and Maximus families. It is particularly known for deliberately traditional analogue design: analogue signal paths, analogue oscillators, filters, LFOs and envelope generators, minimal reliance on CPU control, and generally no patch-memory architecture. Analogue Solutions was also an early participant in the Eurorack modular-synth movement and emphasizes hand-built construction in England and a vintage-inspired sound and workflow.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply / Power Input Failure

Units may fail to power up, operate intermittently, or suffer internal power-stage damage from failed adapters, regulators, or incorrect AC/DC supplies. Many legacy Analogue Solutions models require AC adapters, and using an incorrect supply can prevent operation or potentially damage the unit.

Oscillator Tuning Drift / Calibration Failure

VCOs may become unstable, fail to track octaves correctly, or drift excessively after warm-up. Aging calibration components, trimmers, temperature-sensitive circuitry, or oscillator components can make accurate tuning impossible.

Potentiometer / Control Failure

Rotary potentiometers may become noisy, mechanically loose, erratic, or develop dead spots. This can cause abrupt changes in oscillator tuning, filter cutoff, modulation depth, envelope parameters, or sequencer voltages.

MIDI-to-CV / MIDI Input Failure

The synthesizer may stop responding to incoming MIDI notes, exhibit incorrect pitch conversion, or fail to trigger envelopes. Faults can originate in the MIDI input circuitry, optocoupler, MIDI-CV converter, DAC, connectors, or associated logic.

Audio Output / No-Sound Failure

A unit may power normally but produce weak, intermittent, distorted, or no audio output. Common fault areas include the VCA, mixer stages, output amplifiers, jack contacts, filter path, or associated analogue circuitry.

Sequencer Clock / Step Failure

Oberkorn, Megacity, Leipzig, Fusebox, Impulse Command, and related sequencer-equipped models may stop advancing, skip steps, fail to reset, or produce incorrect CV/gate outputs. Likely causes include worn switches, clock circuitry faults, step-control electronics, potentiometers, or output jack problems.

Jack Socket / Patch Connection Failure

Patch, CV, gate, and audio sockets may become intermittent or lose connection from repeated insertion and mechanical stress. Failed or cracked solder joints around panel-mounted PCB sockets can cause missing signals or operation that changes when a cable is moved.

Switch / Button Contact Failure

Toggle switches, rotary selectors, pushbuttons, and step controls can become intermittent or stop switching functions correctly. This may disable oscillator sync, waveform selection, sequencer steps, modulation routing, filter modes, or envelope triggering.

Signal Bleed / VCA Leakage

Oscillator or LFO signals may remain faintly audible when the VCA should be closed, producing background tones, clicks, or modulation bleed. Faults or calibration errors in the VCA, modulation routing, grounding, or surrounding analogue components can increase this leakage.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
  2. 2 Per information known, researched and collected by Acme Revival and its systems at time of page publishing (September 15, 2026).
