As an OEM, Amazon designs and sells a broad portfolio of connected consumer devices, including Echo smart speakers and displays, Kindle e-readers, Fire tablets, Fire TV streaming devices, and other smart-home electronics. Much of the device engineering is associated with Amazon Lab126, its hardware R&D organization, while production is carried out through manufacturing partners and facilities in global electronics-manufacturing regions. Amazon is best known overall for its e-commerce marketplace and Prime ecosystem, AWS cloud services, Alexa/Echo products, Kindle, and Fire TV. Amazon itself states that it both manufactures and sells electronic devices in addition to its much larger retail and services businesses.
Rechargeable batteries degrade, stop holding a charge, report incorrect charge levels, or cause devices to shut down unexpectedly. This is particularly common in aging Kindle, Fire Tablet, and battery-powered Ring models.

Devices may repeatedly disconnect, fail to join Wi-Fi, or maintain connections too weak for normal operation. Echo and Ring products are especially dependent on stable connectivity, making Wi-Fi-related failures appear as unresponsive voice assistants, unavailable cameras, or failed live video.
Microphone arrays or their supporting circuit boards can fail, causing Echo devices to stop hearing commands and Ring cameras or doorbells to lose audio capture. When configuration and mute settings are ruled out, the microphone hardware or associated board may require replacement.
Speakers, tweeters, woofers, amplifiers, or audio-related circuit boards can fail, producing no sound, distorted sound, unusually low volume, or missing frequency ranges. Echo and Ring hardware troubleshooting specifically identifies defective speakers and audio boards as possible causes.
Fire TV devices can fail to produce a picture or be recognized by the connected television because of HDMI connection, port, power, or internal board problems. Symptoms commonly include a blank screen, missing signal, or video without properly functioning audio.
Ring camera and doorbell models can develop failed camera modules, infrared components, or related imaging hardware. Typical symptoms include no video, blurry or distorted images, or normal daytime operation with failed or severely degraded night vision.
