Amano repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Amano Corporation is a Japanese industrial and technology equipment manufacturer founded in 1931, originally known for developing and manufacturing time recorders. Today, the company designs, manufactures, sells, installs, and services products and systems spanning workforce/time-and-attendance management, parking and access systems, environmental equipment, and commercial/industrial cleaning systems. Its hardware includes time clocks and related time-information devices, parking gates and payment equipment, industrial dust and mist collectors, pneumatic material-handling equipment, commercial floor-cleaning machines, and autonomous cleaning robots. Amano is particularly associated with time and attendance/time-recording technology, while its industrial operations have expanded substantially into parking automation and factory environmental/cleaning equipment.

2 Most Seen Failures:

[Printer Carriage Jam / Stuck Print Mechanism]

The printer carriage becomes stuck or fails to return to its home position, preventing the unit from completing an imprint. Amano manuals commonly associate this with home-sensor, timing-sensor, or carriage errors and physical obstructions in the print mechanism.

[Worn, Incorrect, or Misaligned Ribbon]

Printing becomes faint, incomplete, or unreadable when the ribbon is worn out, incorrectly installed, or incompatible with the recorder. Poor-quality or non-Amano ribbons can also bind in the carriage or leave residue on the print head and rollers.

[Time Card Feed / Card Jam Failure]

The recorder fails to pull a time card into the mechanism, eject it correctly, or process it after insertion. Typical causes include incorrect insertion, forced card removal, damaged or unsuitable cards, foreign material, and feed-mechanism problems.

[Home Position Sensor Failure]

The printer mechanism cannot correctly detect its starting or finishing home position. This commonly produces dedicated home-sensor error codes and may prevent printing until a jam, carriage, cable, or sensor issue is corrected.

[Timing / Position Sensor Failure]

The recorder loses correct positional feedback from the printing mechanism, resulting in timing-sensor or print-position errors. The failure is frequently associated with a stuck carriage, contamination, wiring problems, or sensor malfunction.

[Light, Unclear, or Incomplete Printing]

Characters print too lightly, unevenly, or incompletely for reliable reading. Recurring causes include exhausted ribbons, incorrectly seated ribbon cassettes, dirty print components, unsuitable ribbons, and print-mechanism problems.

[Incorrect Print Position / Column Alignment]

The machine prints in the wrong row, column, or location on the time card. Incorrect pay-period or print-length programming, improper card handling, sensor-reading problems, or incorrect card specifications can cause the alignment failure.

[Card Recognition / Read Error]

The recorder rejects a card or cannot correctly read its identifying or positioning information. Common triggers include reversed or incorrectly coded cards, dirty cards, premature card removal, incompatible card types, and contamination that interferes with optical sensors.

[Power / Clock Data Loss or Clock Malfunction]

The recorder stops operating, loses valid clock information, or displays incorrect time or date after power or internal clock problems. Documented causes include disconnected AC power, discharged backup batteries, power interruptions, incorrect settings, and internal movement or clock-data failures.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
