Allied Telesis repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Allied Telesis is a Japanese-founded global manufacturer of enterprise and industrial networking infrastructure, established in 1987. The company designs and manufactures Ethernet switches, industrial switches, wireless access points, routers, media converters, network adapters, optical transceivers and related network-management and security software. Its equipment is deployed across enterprise campuses, data centers, government, education, healthcare, transportation and industrial environments. Allied Telesis is particularly known for reliable Ethernet switching and wired/wireless network infrastructure, along with technologies for automating and centrally managing networks. Unlike many networking vendors that outsource virtually all production, Allied Telesis emphasizes its ability to manufacture its own products and maintain control over its supply chain.

2 Most Seen Failures:

[Power Supply Unit (PSU) Failure]

The internal or removable power supply fails to provide the required output, causing the switch to lose power, report a PSU fault, or operate with reduced redundancy. PSU failures may result from component degradation, overheating, fan failure, excessive output current, or abnormal input voltage.

[Cooling Fan Failure]

One or more chassis or power-supply cooling fans stop operating or run below the required speed. The device may report a fan fault and can eventually overheat or shut down to protect internal components.

[Overheating / Thermal Shutdown]

The switch exceeds its permitted internal operating temperature because of inadequate airflow, high ambient temperature, fan failure, or an overheating power supply. The hardware may operate intermittently before automatically shutting down to prevent damage.

[PoE Power Delivery Failure]

A PoE-capable Ethernet port fails to supply the expected power to a connected powered device. Causes associated with the hardware path include PSU problems, insufficient available power, abnormal port power delivery, or thermal conditions that cause PoE to be shut down.

[Ethernet Port Link Failure]

A copper Ethernet port fails to establish or maintain a physical network link even when a connected device is present. When cable and remote-device faults are eliminated, failure isolated to a particular port can indicate defective port/interface hardware.

[SFP / Fiber Port Link Failure]

An SFP-based fiber interface fails to establish a link despite a correctly seated, compatible transceiver and valid fiber connection. Persistent failure after the transceiver, fiber, optical levels, and remote equipment are eliminated can indicate a defective SFP slot or associated interface hardware.

[Unstable Input Power / Voltage Fault]

The switch receives or detects voltage outside its approved operating range, resulting in fault indications, intermittent operation, PSU shutdown, or complete device shutdown. This condition can affect the power subsystem directly and may also reduce or interrupt PoE output.

[Intermittent Hardware Operation / Unexpected Shutdown]

The switch operates normally and then becomes unstable, resets, or shuts down intermittently. Allied Telesis troubleshooting documentation commonly associates this symptom with unstable supply voltage, malfunctioning fans, PSU problems, or excessive internal temperature.

[Degraded Power Supply Output]

A power supply continues operating but produces output below normal specifications, reducing available system or PoE power rather than immediately causing a complete outage. Allied Telesis documentation identifies failing or overheating power supplies as a typical cause of reduced DC output.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
