Camera fails to power on / becomes unresponsive
Camera stops responding or appears completely dead, sometimes shortly after initial use. Reported units may show no status LED even after charging and can effectively become unusable.
Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.
Alice Camera is a UK computational-photography startup/OEM founded under Photogram Ltd that develops intelligent digital camera hardware and software. Its flagship Alice Camera is a compact Micro Four Thirds interchangeable-lens camera that connects to a smartphone, combining the larger sensor and optical flexibility of a mirrorless camera with smartphone-style connectivity, controls and computational photography. The device uses Qualcomm Snapdragon and Google Edge TPU processing to perform AI-assisted image processing directly on the camera and was developed primarily to make high-quality photo and video production faster and easier for content creators and businesses. The company is particularly known for attempting to bridge the gap between conventional interchangeable-lens cameras and smartphones through on-device AI and computational photography. Alice Camera subsequently rebranded as Camera Intelligence, which is continuing the concept with newer AI-driven camera products.

Camera remains on a solid orange or blinking yellow/orange LED state and will not boot into normal operation. Power cycling may temporarily change the LED state without restoring camera functionality.
The internal battery fails to charge normally, charges inconsistently, or does not reach a usable charge level. Charging problems have been significant enough to receive multiple software fixes.
Camera runtime is substantially shorter than expected or the battery discharges unusually quickly during operation. Battery-life optimizations have been specifically released by the manufacturer.
The camera fails to establish or maintain its required connection with the companion smartphone app. Symptoms include very slow connection, lag, disconnects, or complete inability to reconnect after a fault.
The camera becomes excessively warm or generates thermal warnings during operation. Thermal-warning behavior has required software correction, and sustained computational video workloads can place significant thermal load on the hardware.
The camera becomes frozen, unstable, or otherwise stops responding during normal operation. Multiple firmware/app releases have specifically included stability improvements and crash fixes.
Mounted Micro Four Thirds lenses may not communicate or operate correctly with the camera, affecting electronically controlled functions. Lens-specific compatibility fixes, including fixes for some Olympus lenses, have been issued.
USB-C charging, storage, microphone, or other connected peripherals may fail to initialize or operate reliably. Because Alice relies heavily on USB-C for charging and expansion, connector or interface failures can disable several camera functions at once.
