Aleratec repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Aleratec is a U.S.-based designer, developer, and supplier of professional data-management and electronics equipment. The company is best known for data/media duplication and sanitization hardware, including HDD/SSD and USB flash-drive duplicators, optical-disc duplicators, drive sanitizers, shredders and related media-management equipment. It has also produced multi-device charging and synchronization stations for tablets and other USB devices, serving education, government, corporate, IT and professional markets. Aleratec describes itself as a designer/developer/manufacturer, although available trade records indicate that at least part of its physical production has been sourced from China.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Disc Recording / Duplication Failure

Aleratec optical-disc duplicators commonly report failed copy operations when blank media cannot be recorded reliably. Poor-quality or incompatible media and excessive burn speeds are recurring causes documented across the company's duplicator troubleshooting guides.

Source Disc Read Failure

The duplicator may fail to recognize or read the source/master disc because of scratches, contamination, an unsupported format, poor disc quality, or copy protection. This can appear as "Bad Master," "Source Drive Not Ready," or a source-disc read error.

Target Media Not Detected

Aleratec duplicators may fail to recognize the target disc or hard drive even when media is inserted. Common causes include improperly seated HDDs, incorrectly inserted discs, nonblank target discs, or incompatible source and target media.

Source / Target Capacity Mismatch

Duplication fails when the source contains more data than the destination can hold. Optical models can report "Target Overflow" or size-mismatch errors, particularly when a standard DVD is used for content requiring dual-layer capacity.

Copies Complete but Fail Verification or Playback

A duplication operation can report success while the resulting disc is unreadable, fails verification, or will not play correctly in another device. Aleratec documentation associates this with high recording speeds, low-quality media, recording errors, and playback-device compatibility.

LCD / Power-Up Failure

Some Aleratec duplicators can power up without a functioning LCD display or indicator lights, or fail to start altogether. Documented checks include the AC connection, power switch, outlet/voltage, and startup conditions.

Frozen or Unresponsive Controls

Front-panel buttons or the entire duplicator can become unresponsive, particularly while a previous operation is still active or after an operation is manually interrupted. Aleratec troubleshooting procedures commonly prescribe shutting the unit down, waiting about ten seconds, and restarting it.

Firmware / Burner Compatibility Failure

Corrupted firmware or mismatched firmware and burner versions can prevent normal duplication or even prevent a unit from booting correctly. Some optical models explicitly report firmware-failure or mixed-burner/firmware errors requiring firmware servicing or support intervention.

Internal HDD / Image Manager Failure

Models equipped with internal storage can fail to launch Image Manager or have their HDD disappear from Windows or the duplicator software. Documented causes include incorrect USB mode, drive-recognition problems, and HDD filesystem corruption after power is interrupted while the drive is active.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
