AirTurn repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

AirTurn is a U.S. hardware manufacturer specializing in Bluetooth wireless controllers, hands-free foot pedals/page turners, and portable mounting/stand systems, primarily for musicians and performers using tablets, smartphones, computers, digital sheet music, DAWs, backing tracks, teleprompters, and MIDI applications. Founded in 2008, the company pioneered an early hands-free wireless page-turning solution and has developed multiple generations of customizable Bluetooth pedals and switches that can send keystrokes, MIDI commands, and other app-control inputs. AirTurn is particularly known for its DUO, PED, BT-series and related wireless foot controllers, emphasizing quiet operation, rugged construction, long battery life, and hands-free control. Although music performance remains its core market, AirTurn says its control technology is also used in industrial, scientific, medical, content-creation, and other applications.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Bluetooth Pairing Failure

AirTurn controller does not appear in the host device's Bluetooth list or repeatedly fails to establish a connection. Stored pairings, incorrect operating modes, or the controller attempting to reconnect to another host are common causes.

Pedal or Switch Not Responding

One or more footswitches register no input even though the AirTurn controller is powered and connected. This can result from mechanical switch failure, an intermittent ATFS-2 pedal, loose pedal connections, or incorrect switch assignments.

Intermittent Pedal Activation

A pedal works inconsistently, requiring repeated or unusually deliberate presses before an input is registered. AirTurn specifically documents intermittent ATFS-2 pedal problems, while worn or compromised switch contacts can produce similar symptoms.

PEDpro Missed Page Turns

PEDpro membrane pedals may fail to trigger when foot pressure is applied away from the raised activation ridges. Soft footwear, flexible surfaces, or deterioration of the pedal's mechanical response can make missed inputs increasingly frequent.

Battery or Charging Failure

The controller fails to charge normally, has unusually short operating time, or shuts down despite having recently been charged. Charging-source problems, depleted batteries, battery deterioration, or faults in the charging/power circuitry can produce these symptoms.

USB or Power Input Failure

The controller does not reliably receive power through its USB charging connection or external power input. A damaged connector, poor cable connection, inadequate USB power source, or internal power-path fault can prevent normal charging and operation.

Connection Drops or Reconnection Failure

An AirTurn may initially pair successfully but later disconnect or refuse to reconnect automatically. Corrupted/stale pairing information, competing host devices, firmware issues, or Bluetooth communication faults are common contributors.

Connected but No Commands Sent

The AirTurn shows as connected and may illuminate its status LED when a pedal is pressed, but the application performs no action. Incorrect mode selection, corrupted/customized button mappings, incompatible app configuration, or firmware/configuration problems are typical causes.

Mode or Firmware Malfunction

The controller behaves incorrectly after mode changes, firmware updates, or configuration changes, including loss of expected pedal functions or inability to communicate with an app. Resetting pairing, restoring the correct operating mode, reconfiguring commands, or updating firmware is frequently required to restore normal operation.

1 Acme Revival offers repair, service, and part rebuild opportunities for most AirTurn devices.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
