AEB Industriale repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

AEB Industriale S.r.l. is an Italian professional-audio electronics manufacturer founded in Bologna in 1973 and now based in the Crespellano area of Valsamoggia. It is part of the RCF Group and is best known as the company behind dBTechnologies, while Montarbo is also part of AEB Industriale. The company designs and manufactures professional sound-reinforcement equipment including powered loudspeakers, line-array systems, subwoofers, amplifiers, digital audio/network controllers, wireless systems and related professional audio electronics. AEB/dBTechnologies is particularly associated with the development of active loudspeaker and digital-amplifier technology, with products aimed at touring, live performance, rental, installed sound and professional AV applications. Its origins were in electronic components, radio microphones and loudspeakers before the dBTechnologies brand was established in 1990 as its dedicated speaker/amplifier business.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Amplifier Module Failure

Power-amplifier circuitry fails, resulting in no output, severely reduced output, distortion, or loss of an individual LF/HF amplifier channel. Failures of output-stage semiconductors and surrounding amplifier components are reported on DigiPRO-equipped models.

Power Supply Failure / No Power

The loudspeaker will not power on, repeatedly blows its mains fuse, or fails during its startup sequence. Common fault areas include the switch-mode power supply, power semiconductors, capacitors, and associated power circuitry.

Protection / Mute Fault

The amplifier remains in MUTE/PROT or enters protection shortly after startup, preventing normal audio output. AEB's diagnostic system can deliberately mute the speaker when its microprocessor detects a severe amplifier, power-supply, thermal, or related internal fault.

Intermittent Audio / Output Cutout

Audio periodically disappears, cuts in and out, or the system unexpectedly mutes while operating. Amplifier-module, protection-circuit, power-supply, connector, and thermal faults can all produce this behavior.

Distorted or Clipping Audio

Output becomes harsh, clipped, fuzzy, or otherwise distorted even at operating levels where clean reproduction is expected. Amplifier faults and deteriorated capacitors are documented causes, although incorrect gain or sustained limiter operation can produce similar symptoms.

LF Driver / Bass Channel Failure

The system powers up and high-frequency output remains present, but the woofer or bass section produces little or no sound. Model-specific repairs have linked this symptom to failed amplifier circuitry and deteriorated capacitors in the LF amplifier section.

Thermal Overheating / Output Reduction

Excessive amplifier temperature causes the DSP-controlled protection system to progressively reduce output level and can eventually contribute to muting or shutdown. Blocked cooling surfaces, sustained high-output operation, or faults within the amplifier module can trigger recurring thermal problems.

DSP / Microprocessor Failure

The speaker may fail initialization, remain muted, exhibit abnormal protection indications, or become unresponsive because the DSP or control microprocessor is malfunctioning. Repair services specifically identify failed microprocessors as a possible failure severe enough to make some amplifier modules uneconomical or impossible to repair.

RDNet / Network Control Failure

Network-equipped AEB/dBTechnologies systems can develop RDNet/Aurora communication problems, including connection failures, intermittent dropouts, and logged control errors. These faults interfere with remote monitoring, DSP configuration, and system control even when portions of the audio hardware remain operational.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
