ADJ repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

ADJ Products, LLC, originally known as American DJ, is a U.S.-based global manufacturer and brand specializing in professional entertainment and stage-lighting technology. Founded in 1985, ADJ develops and markets moving-head luminaires, LED wash and beam fixtures, strobes, audience blinders, effect lighting, theatrical fixtures, DMX lighting controllers and software, LED video/display panels, and fog/haze atmospheric-effects machines. Its equipment is designed primarily for live production, AVL rental, touring, DJs, nightclubs, theaters, houses of worship, festivals, concert venues and permanent entertainment installations. ADJ is particularly known for combining professional functionality with relatively accessible pricing and has increasingly emphasized rugged IP65-rated professional lighting fixtures. ADJ Products is also the central company behind a broader family of entertainment-technology brands covering professional lighting, audio, control, trussing and cabling.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply / No-Power Failure

Fixture is completely dead, with no display, light output, or cooling fan operation. Common hardware causes include a failed internal power supply, blown fuse, damaged power-input circuitry, or poor internal power connections.

LED / Light Source Failure

Fixture powers on normally but produces no light, reduced output, intermittent output, or missing colors. Failed LED emitters, LED arrays, lamp connections, or associated driver circuitry are typical causes.

LED Driver Board Failure

LEDs flicker, flash unpredictably, remain dark, or produce incorrect intensity despite valid control commands. Failure of the constant-current LED driver circuitry or communication between the main controller and LED driver can cause these symptoms.

DMX Input / Communication Failure

Fixture powers up but does not reliably respond to a DMX controller or intermittently loses control. Damaged XLR connectors, PCB connections, DMX transceiver/interface circuitry, or signal-path components are common hardware causes.

Cooling Fan Failure

One or more internal fans stop, run intermittently, become noisy, or trigger a fan error. Loss of cooling can cause excessive internal temperature, reduced light output, intermittent shutdown, or accelerated LED and power-component degradation.

Pan / Tilt Stepper Motor Failure

Moving-head fixtures fail to pan or tilt correctly, become stuck, move erratically, or lose positional accuracy. Failed stepper motors, broken motor wiring, damaged motor-driver ICs, or position-sensing components are common causes.

Color / Gobo / Effect Motor Failure

A color wheel, gobo wheel, shutter, zoom, focus, prism, or other motorized effect stops responding or moves incorrectly. The usual hardware faults involve the stepper motor, motor wiring, drive circuitry, or mechanical binding within the effect assembly.

Overheating / Thermal Shutdown

Light output becomes unstable, dims unexpectedly, cuts out intermittently, or the fixture shuts down after warming up. Failed or obstructed fans, contaminated cooling passages, thermal-sensor issues, and heat-stressed power or LED components can produce this behavior.

Display / Main Control PCB Failure

The control display freezes, fails to initialize, shows communication or EEPROM errors, or the fixture behaves unpredictably despite correct external connections. Main PCB, EEPROM, internal communication, connector, or control-processor faults can prevent normal startup and operation.

1 Acme Revival offers repair, service, and part rebuild opportunities for most ADJ devices.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
