ADDER repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

ADDER Technology is a British electronics OEM founded in 1984 that specializes in professional KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) connectivity and remote computer-control hardware. The company designs and manufactures KVM-over-IP systems, KVM switches, extenders, matrix systems, remote-access products, and related connectivity hardware that allow operators to securely access and control computers and distributed IT infrastructure locally or across IP networks. Its equipment is particularly associated with mission-critical professional environments such as broadcast and media production, control rooms, transportation, utilities, industrial automation, and enterprise IT. ADDER is especially known for its ADDERLink INFINITY high-performance IP KVM platform and for emphasizing low-latency, reliable remote access to computing resources.

2 Most Seen Failures:

No Video / Video Signal Loss

Display output disappears completely, fails after a reboot or power cycle, or one or more monitor heads remain blank. Common contributing faults include failed link negotiation, DisplayPort/MST issues, EDID incompatibility, cabling problems, or transmitter/receiver synchronization failures.

USB / Peripheral Dropout

Keyboard, mouse, touchscreen, Wacom tablet, storage, or other USB peripherals intermittently disconnect or stop responding. ADDER firmware histories repeatedly document USB enumeration, memory-management, reboot-recovery, and device-compatibility problems.

Video Flicker / Image Corruption

Displays exhibit flickering, judder, corrupted frames, artifacts, unstable images, or intermittent picture disturbances. Problems can originate from DisplayPort link training, refresh-rate negotiation, MST configurations, graphics-card compatibility, or marginal video links.

EDID / Display Detection Failure

The KVM or extender incorrectly reads, stores, generates, or processes monitor EDID information, causing unsupported resolutions, blank screens, incorrect modes, or failed connections. ADDER has documented multiple EDID-processing and monitor-specific compatibility faults across its extender platforms.

Keyboard / Mouse Input Failure

Keyboard or mouse input becomes unresponsive, intermittent, delayed, or incorrectly mapped even though video remains available. Typical causes include interrupted HID communication, device compatibility, USB recovery failures, hotkey conflicts, or loss of mouse synchronization.

Transmitter / Receiver Link Failure

The local transmitter and remote receiver fail to establish or maintain a reliable connection, resulting in loss of video, USB, audio, or complete remote control. Faults may follow network interruptions, cable/link degradation, endpoint resets, firmware issues, or failed reconnection after reboot.

Firmware / Boot Failure

An endpoint fails to boot normally, becomes unstable after an upgrade, enters backup mode, or requires firmware recovery. ADDER specifically notes corrupted main firmware partitions, occasional upgrade failures, and endpoints automatically falling back to backup firmware.

Audio Loss / Distortion

Analogue, digital, or DisplayPort audio becomes absent, distorted, intermittent, incorrectly routed, or produces pops and clicks. Documented problems include audio mapping errors, receiver-related stuttering, input-related receiver lockups, and configuration incompatibilities.

Power / Endpoint Lockup

A transmitter, receiver, or KVM unit becomes completely unresponsive, unexpectedly resets, or stops operating despite power being connected. ADDER documentation describes recoveries requiring power cycling, internal protection reset, receiver reboot, or restart after endpoint lockups.

1 Acme Revival offers repair, service, and part rebuild opportunities for most ADDER devices.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
  2. 2 Per information known, researched and collected by Acme Revival and its systems at time of page publishing (September 14, 2026).
