ACCO Brands repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Paper Shredder Cutter Jamming

Swingline and Stack-and-Shred models commonly develop paper jams in the cutter mechanism, especially from overloaded, folded, or improperly fed sheets. Persistent jams may prevent the motor from advancing even after automatic reverse cycles.

Shredder Motor Overheating

Swingline shredders can shut down after extended operation when the cutter motor reaches its thermal limit. Repeated overheating may become more frequent as cutter friction, debris buildup, or motor wear increases.

Shredder Auto-Feed Roller Failure

Stack-and-Shred models can stop pulling sheets from the automatic feed chamber when feed rollers become dirty, contaminated, glazed, or worn. The machine may run normally through the manual slot while repeatedly failing to pick up stacked paper.

Shredder Paper Sensor Malfunction

Paper dust commonly accumulates over the infrared auto-start sensor in Swingline shredders, causing continuous running, failure to start, or incorrect paper detection. Door, bin, and interlock sensors can produce similar no-start behavior when contaminated or misaligned.

Laminator Film or Paper Jamming

GBC laminators such as the Foton and Fusion families commonly experience film leaders or media becoming trapped around feed and pressure rollers. The unit may stop feeding, display a jam condition, or require removal and re-threading of the film cartridge.

Laminator Feed Roller Slipping

GBC automatic laminators can develop roller slippage that causes sheets to misfeed, stall, skew, or fail to reach the cutter. Contamination, roller wear, incorrect media loading, or restricted film movement are common contributors.

Laminator Cutter Failure

GBC Foton and other automatic laminators can develop cutter jams or cutter-position faults that prevent completed documents from being separated. Failures can involve a stuck blade, obstructed film, cutter mechanism, encoder, or related position sensing.

Docking Station Display and Connection Dropouts

Kensington SD-series USB-C and Thunderbolt docks are frequently reported with monitors going blank, failing to wake, or intermittently disconnecting along with USB or Ethernet devices. Firmware, dock-controller, power-delivery, cable, and interface-handshake problems are frequent causes.

Trackball Scroll Ring and Tracking Failure

Kensington Expert Mouse, Orbit, and related trackballs commonly develop stiff, inconsistent, delayed, or erratic scrolling as the scroll-ring mechanism and optical sensing system wear or become contaminated. Some units also develop intermittent tracking or fail to restore pointer movement correctly after sleep.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
