A4TECH repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

A4TECH is a Taiwanese computer-peripheral OEM and consumer electronics brand founded in 1987, specializing primarily in mice, keyboards, keyboard/mouse desktop sets, webcams, headsets, earphones, speakers, USB hubs, microphones, laser presenters, and gaming peripherals. The company performs its manufacturing in Dongguan, China, while maintaining its corporate headquarters in Taiwan. A4TECH operates as both an own-brand manufacturer and OEM/export supplier and is particularly known for high-volume computer mice and keyboard products, proprietary pointing-device technologies, optical switches, wireless peripherals, and its Bloody gaming-hardware brand. Its current catalog remains strongly centered on wired, 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth mice/keyboards, audio devices, webcams, and related PC accessories.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Mouse Button Double-Clicking

Left or right mouse buttons begin registering two clicks from a single press, usually as the internal microswitch wears or develops contact bounce. This is especially associated with older A4TECH and X7/Bloody-style gaming mice.

Scroll Wheel Failure

The scroll wheel may skip, reverse direction, scroll intermittently, or stop responding because of encoder wear, dust contamination, or mechanical damage. A4TECH specifically uses dust-resistant wheel designs on some models to extend encoder life.

Mouse Sensor Tracking Failure

The cursor may become erratic, freeze, jump, or fail to track movement consistently. Common causes include optical sensor contamination, deteriorating sensor electronics, damaged cables, or unstable USB power.

Wireless Connection Dropouts

Wireless A4TECH mice and keyboards may intermittently disconnect, lag, or stop responding to their 2.4 GHz receiver or Bluetooth connection. Typical causes include weak batteries, receiver faults, pairing loss, interference, or failing wireless circuitry.

Keyboard Keys Not Responding

Individual keys or groups of keys may stop registering, respond intermittently, or require excessive pressure. The usual hardware causes are worn membrane contacts, contaminated switch areas, damaged matrix traces, or internal connector faults.

USB Device Not Detected

A4TECH keyboards, mice, and webcams can fail to enumerate when connected, leaving the computer unable to recognize the device. Causes commonly include damaged USB cables or connectors, failed controller electronics, or USB interface faults.

Headset Microphone Failure

The microphone may produce no audio, very low audio, intermittent output, or excessive noise while headphone playback remains functional. Failures commonly involve the microphone capsule, cable conductors, inline controls, plugs, or internal solder joints.

Webcam No Video / Camera Not Detected

A4TECH webcams may be recognized without producing an image, intermittently disappear, or fail to appear as an imaging device. Likely hardware causes include USB cable or connector failure, image-sensor board faults, controller failure, or internal connection problems.

Cable and Connector Failure

Wired mice, keyboards, headsets, and webcams frequently develop intermittent operation near the USB plug, strain relief, headset jack, or device entry point. Repeated flexing can break internal conductors or solder joints, causing power loss, disconnects, or intermittent signals.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
