Reviving Ultrasonic Cleaning for Laboratory Operations

What we did

Yale University supports research and academic work across a broad range of scientific disciplines, where reliable laboratory equipment is essential. A Branson 3800 ultrasonic cleaner—a system designed to use ultrasonic energy for precision cleaning—developed an intermittent problem in which it powered on but did not consistently produce sonication. Acme Revival’s evaluation identified a circuitry short between the main control board and the ultrasonic transducers, requiring work on multiple components within the affected assembly, with replacement of the main circuitry PCB considered as necessary to resolve the defect. Acme Revival completed the approved service to address the electrical fault and restore the ultrasonic function. Following the repair process, the original sonication issue was documented as resolved, and the Branson 3800 reached a successful repair outcome, allowing the recovered laboratory unit to be returned to Yale University.
