Reviving Respiratory Monitoring to Support Animal Care
What we did
San Francisco Zoo cares for a diverse collection of animals, making dependable veterinary equipment especially important when working across species of very different sizes. After its SurgiVet V9212 CO2 Module began displaying unusually high inspired CO2 readings across multiple smaller patients—including birds, lizards, and a lemur—the zoo sent the unit to Acme Revival for closer evaluation. Technicians identified damage, failure, or shorting to ground on a specialized control PCB responsible for managing critical signals and functions within the device. Acme Revival recommended component-level work on the affected assembly or replacement of the circuitry as the appropriate repair path and proceeded with the approved service. Following the repair, the SurgiVet module was tested and confirmed to be operating to factory specifications. The successful outcome returned this important veterinary monitoring equipment to San Francisco Zoo in working condition.
