Devices purchased from Acme Revival have been owned and used previously– sold to Acme Revival, and then rebuilt to factory specifications.

Every device sold on the Acme Revival platform has undergone a rigorous internal and external refurbishment process, and has been tested to operate at the specifications set forth by the manufacturer.

Although the term “Pre-Owned” and “Refurbished” seem to carry various definitions depending on where you’re purchasing, Acme’s classification for a refurbished device is simple:

A device that has undergone a rigorous internal and external refurbishment process, and has been tested to operate at the specifications set forth by the manufacturer. The device has been disinfected, cleaned, and undergone a cosmetic restoration process that my have included paint, pigments, polymers, fillers, adhesives and other permanent restorative materials to return the device to its original physical state. The functionality of the device has been confirmed via multiple diagnostic tests, including confirmation of varying electrical voltages, resistance, frequency, and current, as well as mechanical and electro-mechanical movements and properties. The device may have undergone repairs or other refurbishing procedures that replaced or repaired parts to extend the estimated lifetime of the device.

Have these devices suffered catastrophic failures prior?

Although no formal service database exists to determine the exact history of a device, most of our devices were traded-in or recycled with the intent of purchasing different or newer technology. Acme Revival does not sell devices with known histories of critical structural failures, water damage, or theft.

Age is cruel, even for machines

Our refurbishment practices do not change the “look” or “feel” or the intended functionality of a device. A device from 1950, or even 1998 will still look from its era– although clean, and ready-for-use. The older a device, the greater likelihood you’ll notice cosmetic imperfections and some wear and tear consistent with its age.

The folks that refurbish your devices

Acme Revival personnel range from electrical engineers, to diesel mechanics, to software developers. Each of our refurbishing specialists come together to perform a specific task with your device before being sent on to ultimately being packaged and shipped directly to you.

Is a refurbished device for me?

It might be, but it’s certainly not for everyone. Sure, Acme Revival’s refurbished devices are typically fractions of new MSRP and backed by reassuring guarantees however some may benefit from a “factory-sealed” new purchase. Those seeking installation, training, or other in-house assistance with their device should look elsewhere of Acme. Those requiring that new-car smell or those bothered by the lingering thought of a prior owner’s metaphorical fingerprints may not find Acme the right fit.
