Overview

Ventilator technology for respiratory failure in neonatals has never been greater.  The Infant Flow SIPAP by Vyaire has been around for some time, however is well tested and accredited in looking at continuous positive airway pressure for infants. Unlike other more invasive ventilators, Vyaire claims that “easier isn’t always better,” and that Infant Flow BiPhasic can help further keep neonates off invasive ventilation and improve clinical outcomes. Think of the Infant Flow as gentle respiratory support employed with patented variable flow generator providing NPPV by offering nasal CPAP, Biphasic and Biphasic tr modalities. Like the patients it treats, the Infant Flow is relatively ergonomic– though deeper (like a brick) than the photos indicate, and should be accompanied by its rolling cart/trolly. Given its size, the LCD display is fairly small, and its associated user interface appears a bit pixelated up close. Despite this complaint, the Infant Flow is one of the market’s best ventilators designed exclusively for neonatal use.
