Overview

Although the Respironics BiPAP Vision is non-invasive, it shouldn’t be mistaken for a portable, compact, or mobile device.  Weighing in at 34 lbs and standing 16″ in its ‘leaned-back’ obtuse housing, the Respironics system looks a bit dated (and fixed) next to similar models in its class. It is however not without its advanced features that have stood the test of time quite well. An intuitive graphical display and patient parameter readout is impressive on a bright and large integrated display screen and a combination of soft keys and a large control knob make set-up and adjustment a cinch. The visual waveform integration is as informative as you’d expect a brand new ventilator to be, and the freeze/unfreeze mode allows the operator to get the most of the data. The Respironics’ unique oxygen delivery system delivers up to 100% oxygen for those whom need it– something that most units struggle to deliver half of. And advanced and intelligent alarm systems keeps you informed of patient status yet also differentiate time-critical changes with basic alarms that predict mask wearing side effects. Although the BiPAP vision may not provide the most advanced automatic triggering and cycling events, Respironics’ AUTO-TRAK Sensitivity performs well in wake of breathing changes/ changes, and leaks– eliminating the need for constant manual adjustment and helps ensure patient-ventilator synchrony.
