Overview

We won’t get into the science of SLT lasers here in this review– mainly because we don’t have enough space on this page nor enough years to understand their basis in Glaucoma treatment. Basically, SLT lasers reduce the pressure of the eye, and although manufacturers make full SLT laser systems– built-into slit lamp stations, the Lumensis Selecta II allows use on just about any converging style slit lamp through its “clip-on” design which utilizes the tonometer mount as an installation point. This surprisingly enough makes the system super portable. Although if you are transporting from room to room or something to that extent- be prepared for at least a 15 minutes set-up process and a 15 minute “tear down” process. This clip-on design does allow slit lamp use  as either a diagnostic tool, advanced laser delivery device or both– saving space and the investment of a full-on SLT laser workstation.
