Overview
When we have a bunch of lensometers in the same room for testing and comparing purposes, we sometimes forget which model we are currently evaluating. Or when we are working on one that seems so similar to the latter we have a hard time telling them apart. The CLM-3100p is very much in that category with some striking similarities to other lensometers we’ve reviewed. The conclusion here is that most Asian-made devices from this era utilized an economies of scale approach and simply shared screens and softwares with each other. Which is fine, especially if there’s some price difference between the two or three units we find similar- which there is. But it makes reviewing these units difficult as they provide little helpful contrasting information for customers to make purchasing decisions. Our advice: read our overviews for the CL-100, and the TL-3000, and then come back and read this one.
