Affordable price point given years to depreciate, (kind of) portable and good for home-use, fairly simple operation.

Technology doesn’t compare well to newer ventilators, weird lengthy proportions, aging user interface.

Despite a decent entry-level price, the LTV series Ventilators are aging and have a difficult time competing with newer models.

Overview

With original manufacturing dates from the mid-2000s, the LTV 900, 950, and 1000 are getting up there in age- and it shows a bit. Despite its portability– which at the time- was impressive, the LTV 900-1000 series looks dated and abnormally ‘lengthy’ for little-to-no user interface. The CareFusion LTV relies on analog displays and push-buttons despite half of the unit being nothing more than plastic housing. It almost appears as if the designer ran out of time when he or she got to the center of the front facing side of the device. Regardless of the strange design, at 14 pounds the LTV is fairly portable, and fits in ‘tablet-esque’ storage. With both invasive and non-invasive applications, the LTV 900 includes pressure support, NPPV, adjustable flow triggering and an apnea back-up mode. Features also include Variable Rise Time Variable Sensitivity, Flow Triggers, Variable Flow Termination, Variable Time, Termination Leak Compensation, NPPV Mode, High Pressure Alarm, and Delay Oxygen Bleed In. You also have the option to run the LTV 900 with a 3-hour external battery.
